New Bumper for the 80. Thought you folks might like to see it.

Great fab work doesn't come cheap. It's like buying fine art really. And speaking of fine art, that is one of the coolest looking swing-outs I have seen. I love the ladder hoop/jack mount. Nice job on the 1/4 protection too. Beautiful!

    Introducing . . . Grendel.

:jump: Waaaay FUN!! Great pics too. Roseann looks kinda happy, eh? :D Pretty cool that this special vehicle has passed through the hands of ExPo members and will remain "in the family"

What makes Expedition Portal different - and valuable

I think we can keep it on track by just doing what we have already done. This forum is what it is because of the members. If the members keep up the great content and enjoy some good-natured humor along the way, it will always be a great place to teach, learn, & share what we enjoy. It's up to...

    New Toys!

Very cool! Mine is an earlier year, so not sure of differences, but I was able to cut some of the painted fender material that was sticking down in the front, and bend it in such a way to retain the bolted tie-in to the inner fender for structural strength. I'll dig up some pics if you...

    fridge power consumption?

Jeff, that will also depend on your available space and weight allowance that you want to afford the battery. I think that Lifeline or Odyssey deep cycle batteries will offer some of the best "bang for the weight" where amp-hours are concerned.

Tacoma starter failure at 135K miles

Thanks to everyone for their input, experiences and suggestions. Based on my inpsection of my starter when I took it apart, and after talking to Toyota of Dallas (TRDParts4U.com) and getting their opinion based on what they sell (one of the largest Toyota parts inventories), I decided to just...

    fridge power consumption?

Jeff, I think you would probably end up running the CD-30 more than 40% of the time, because 41°F isn't cold enough. Also, that is at 86°F ambient temperature, which considering where you live and play, will fall short of the actual temps on many of your trips when you have your vehicle parked...

    FG buildup

Very well described, and sounds like you have it covered. Bueno! This is a really fun build to follow along. Thanks for taking the time to share all of the little details. HA!! When I first posted, I wrote "I like the looks of whatever is lurking in the background of this pic" ... and then I...

    Engel Noise

I have the 60 and it is hard-wired to the battery. As Graham said, you just need to make sure it is fused. I ran appropriately sized positive & negative leads into the cab and connected to the paired wire that came with the fridge (made the connection under the dash). Fuse was wired in very...

    FG buildup

Very cool! Lots of progress. That looks really slick! I have no idea what the camper structure is like, but is there any concern about torsional forces due to the way the camper steps up and away in width/height in relation to the chassis? BTW, I like the looks of whatever vehicle is lurking...
