Big day yesterday! We did a full Thermal audit on our truck camper construction.
While we are waiting for the full read out on the thermal testing, we like to share a sneak peek . We past with flying colours! Inside was +18c / outside close to freezing. No cold bridges or thermal transfer other...
Just installed the 6.5' camper in our 2021 XLT with 5.5 bed. The tie down points in the front suck... Need to improve that. The camper is roughly 1000lb and the truck (so far) handles it fine.
What is everyone using for upgrading the tie downs? I was thinking of fastening aftermarket cargo...
Our transit has a big walk through to the camper. Our idea was also to use the drivers cab as an additional living space. In the summer it is great! Right now in the winter time it drives me crazy! The drivers cab is impossible to insulate. Although we have a thermal curtain there is still huge...
they are ready! I’m putting mine on our f150 tomorrow. with current orders the turn around is roughly 3-4 months. All details here: www.expeditionupfitter.com
Just traded in my 2021 ranger. Great truck, loved it! But sadly too small for our business. Picked up a 2021 f150 xlt sport 5liter v8.
this thing is big! Finding parking is a bit more challenging. But man the interior, overall quality , space and power is at another levelcompared to the ranger...
It took me half a day to assemble the smart cap. although it’s straight forward, I would not want to do it again.
the overall quality is truly amazing and I think they are worth the money. Needs 4 people to lift onto the truck! Certainly not something I would want to take off on a regular basis.
I was part of the German "Sahara club" and members talked/traveled a lot in these regions. I never made it that far, just Northern Africa 8 times and a couple times West Africa. I agree with you, the Sahara is addictive! Cheers
Yes and no. I have gone through 20 gallons of kerosene now with our Planar set up. No issues. But I may mix in some diesel for this weekends trip. Planar themselves recommend Diesel OR Kerosene. I believe it's not an issue.
Yes it is. Since my last post, we have been adding components to it :-) LIFO battery, Aluminum (black powder coated)brush guards to be installed next week and a bunch of other small bits. Overall, this is an amazing package that will make you go camping in style off the grid.
Cheers
