With the camper mounted and loaded, when you flex the suspension, what are you seeing for movement at the spring mounts? Gaps between your filler strips and flatbed?
The little cigarette inverters work but need to matched to the amp draw of whatever you are plugging into it.
It's pretty straight forward to add an inverter on any battery bank as well as AC input.
In my opinion, in a camper this size, a toilet is more of an occasional use thing. Being able to...
Circling back on what I'm seeing with the loctite PL3X.
I bonds to the EPS and XPS foam fairly well on cut edges. It doesn't bond well to the face of XPS Foamular 250. After reading reviews and the specs that it bonds foam, I was underwhelmed with how it performed.
The extruded surface of XPS...
I tested greenhouse tape and it stuck well. It's some heavy duty stuff from greenhouse megastore that we already had. The tape on Amazon looks to be questionable quality.
The clear tape looked fine on the white Coroplast but I think white might look better.
I picked up some 2" wide white hull...
I found a wholesale supplier and it was $14/sheet. There is a similar product for $11/sheet but they didn't have any in stock. It's all sign making material but the difference being, the more expensive stuff has coating that can be printed on.
I'm going to order a big peel and stick wall paper...
I'm going to use some stainless self tapping screws through the foam into the aluminum framing. The interior skins are going to be 4mm coroplast polyethylene. I'm still scratching my head on the seam details but I think I'll use 10mil greenhouse tape.
The interior may look a little like a space...
Here's a boring update showing boring work. The part of the project that wasn't anticipated to drag on. 4 weeks of work.
I will say working in the shop listening to music while it's getting dark at 4:30 pm is not a bad way to spend time.
1.5" foam between the extruded aluminum floor and 1/2"...
Thanks.
For comparing apples to apples with a production unit like a Northern Lite sportsman 8-11 that has a dry weight of 2560lbs, What do you think the dry weight of yours is?
Also what material is the white spacer between your box and flatbed?
Do you know how much your camper weighs? My next build will most likely be very similar to what you have done but I think I'll add an extra 2' overhang off of the rear.
What burner are you using and how small does it fold up?
Would it hold a wok nicely?
Is it mild steel or aluminum?
I've had a steel one for a long time but it is super corroded from crab pots that always seem to boil over. It also doesn't fold up which makes it bulky to pack around.
I'm curious how much condensation forms in these units when parked outside in the Pacific Northwest in the winter time. Specifically units in stock form without added insulation.
Also, how much water leaks into the truck bed between the camper and bed rails as well as gaps on the sides of the...
Good point on price and quality.
At this point I regret saying anything about it as 4wheel camper is very successful at creating a product that a lot of people are happy with for a competitive price.
Misaligned parts, bat fits, ghost holes. I also watched the video on a large monitor. People probably wont notice if they are using a phone to view content.
