    Battery bank and charger recommendations

Thanks. That site looks like it covers a lot. I'm pretty familiar with the basics and have done a lot of 12v wiring. I'll try to narrow the focus of my inquiry. Given the simplicity of my requirements, those that have used AGM and Lifepo4 which route would you go for this system? If Lifepo4...

    Battery bank and charger recommendations

I'm building out a trailer for camping at out local ski area and am looking for opinions on the battery setup. I think I'd like around 400ah capacity. AGM vs Lifepo4 and appropriate charger. Goals Supply power for 4 days off grid. Charge via shore power at home. Loads are all 12v. No...

    DIY Composite Flatbed Camper Build

I've had good results bonding with epoxy to anodized surfaces. With raw aluminum I've sandblasted and sprayed zinc chromate as a primer for epoxy.

A Question for all You ExPo Vehicle Fabricators???

Internets say Corten is 65% more expensive than mild steel. Sounds like similar mechanical properties and weldable. I guess it's just a matter of the look and it sounds like your good with that. I'm a fan of raw aluminum, oxide and all but a lot of people think it looks bad.

With a pop up style shell wouldn't you be looking out through the openings in the fabric?

    Scout camper feel too heavy?

Kind of depends on what model you are referring to. The Tuktut shouldn't be to bad, especially if you put your fridge, water etc on the floor while driving.

Truck camper build proposal using pre-fab PU/FRP sandwich panels

Seaming the panels together kind of seams like broken surfboard repair. What climate are you planning to use the camper in? If you're in the SW, you might get away with joining them via an H aluminum extrusion. If you can't find that profile, you might be able to rivet and epoxy 2 C extrusions...

    Stiffening An Expedition Camper Frame

Gotcha. Those were just generalized examples to get your wheels turning. I wouldn't buy a pallet of brick either but I'd give someone a 6pack of beer to forklift a pallet of something heavy onto my truck, strap it down and then pick a tire up with a forklift so I could look at / measure axle...

    Stiffening An Expedition Camper Frame

I think that adjusting suspension spring rates on the front and rear changes the amount of force required to pick a tire off the ground and thereby effects the amount of frame deflection. Someone on here could draw a free body diagram and prove it one way or the other.

    Stiffening An Expedition Camper Frame

What about adding weight and seeing what it does. A pallet of concrete landscaping materials is around 2700lbs. 4 50 gallon barrels of water strapped to a pallet is 1668lbs.

    Four Wheel Camper Installation Question

Have you searched for an installation video? That list of parts looks like widely available items so if you don't need them all you could purchase individually.

RV & Camper Prices vs Inflation

All the prices for hard goods and wages always follow the simple law of supply and demand. Over the last couple years, some businesses have been sitting on supply, some have artificially inflated things because they could. In the last 9 months a lot of businesses have been liquidating...

    To window or not window

If it is for visibility I would say no. If you are going to use a boot between the two for heat or AC maybe. Windows = condensation and restrict your usable space in your buildout.

Total composites style box on a 144 sprinter cutaway?

You have to like that when talking about composite panel RV construction it is referred to as "Total Composites style".

Tacoma that's 1600 lbs over GVWR... recertifying and wheeling

Not only does it increase your GVWR, it also brings the tire floatation up another 50%. Time to ditch those maxtrax. Errrr. Hmmm.

I'm not talking "Kommando Spezialkräfte", but pretty darn close, how would you build your next RIG?

It will only achieve it's full "bad self" potential when there is imagery of it smashing though a river or some other delicate ecosystem. Oh wait... Imperials are so honey badger,,, running it through an old growth rain forest.

    Lone Peak Overland

I've been curious about the skin to extrusion bond from the start. Looks like a few rivets but I wonder about thermocycling and oil canning putting stress on the bond. How many cross members are there supporting the roof skin?

Northern Lite 610 for 1/2 Ton PU

What is the thickness on the NL glass layup? Is it a woven matrix? I had to to tear into my Northern Lite light a little bit to repair some rot in the floor and a crack on the shell at the bottom of the door but it was over 15 years ago and I don't remember.
