Well, if all the places you want to see are being reached by a sprinter van then get one and post on vanlife sites. There is much more to see that you can’t get to in a sprinter van. As mentioned before, whatever you get make sure it is well supported where you go.

121000 on my 2010 2.5 before I traded on my f150. Never an issue. Oil, tires, gas, and other scheduled maintenance. I know a dozen or so people with similar stories so there are many more with no issues than there are with issues in my personal experience.

I wouldn’t say all the overlanders are narcissistic just seems like it because they are the ones with the channels. There are many more than them that just do their thing.

Since you mentioned that I have looked at some “tent cots” The biggest ones I could find sleep two which is a great option for a lot of people. A larger one shouldn’t be that much harder to manufacture and I think a lot of folks would want one so they do not deal with a rtt.

I think what separates overlanding is that the destination and or journey is to a remote location.
