I have used the ipad GPS on its own and with a separate dongle all over and can not tell any difference or speed issue. These days only use what ipad offers internally without any issue anywhere in the world.
Update - I just retrieved a Fluke 77 after being face up in the rain for 8+ hours. Disassembled the meter, blew it out, and reassembled it. Working great again ready for some more raino_O
No dislike of the Safe Jack just educating the limits and giving cost effective options.
Just for the big guys clear at 9.25" and 20 tons
FWIW Safe jack max available is 6 tons
We make adapters to fit all post jacks from 1-1/4" to 2"
The 200 is light years ahead of the 100 I watch and was in a 200 Maltec in the Sahara dunes 5' off the ground on several occasion with zero effect. Truly amazing!
A 100 series would die out here
Zero hate on IFS the 200 series killed on the dunes by far but the IFS on a 200 series is much more robust with much better travel than the 100 series.
I own a LX470 and love it for my needs
I understand your point but you are not always offroad and its not always you when a jack is needed. If it your wife or you are on tarmac your solution is useless. The adapter was created by my wife because centering a post jack where the factory recommends is not the safest or the easiest for...
Be careful with the Safe Jack it can be a challenge if you need to change a flat as it will not fit under the axle.
A Safe Jack next to a factory Toyota jack with a LCP Jack Adapter next to a flat 315/75-16.
The Jack Adapter fits the axle much more secure and available for all types of post...
Correct no wheel spin, no brakes, and only the required amount of throttle needed.
With that said sometime you find the need to just nail it and drive it like you stole it.
I like many used a gas lantern happy-fully for years. These days convenience, size/space, and safety keep the gas lantern on the shelf. In addition its way more light then I want at a camp site.
On my recent trip to Tunisia we had 2 80 series, 60 series, several 70 series, and a 200 series (all diesel powered) but no 100 series and the only 100 series I saw in Africa was 105's. I can tell you a 100 series with IFS would not stand up in the dunes as it was tough even on 80 series front ends.
We can agree the 200 is a truly awesome vehicle having spent 1000's of miles testing in a Maltec but off road the size challenges it on many trails as does the 100 series be it fully locked or not.
I also monitor a couple other devices and the only issue is if Im hot spotting I will need to switch networks. Actually I have been surprised how nice it has been as it was a $37 ebay set up.
