After much searching for a smaller package I broke down and bought 100.
Before.
After.
When I bought the rig it was missing one flag. Not a big deal, but after 8+ years a couple more broke and I was down 3. My inner OCD was bothered by this.
Now some of you would say just junk them. However...
Looks great.
I’d consider making it a wee bit taller while you’re at it. It’d be so much easier now that down the road. But… it all depends on how you plan to use it.
I've messaged the seller of these seats several times to come look at them and they haven't answered. I'll probably go with the '07 seats that aren't listed by a scammer.
The Ford E350 seat covers I'm already using should fit them perfectly.
Given the maintenance costs of a 6.0 diesel I understand why you're ditching it. I'm thankful I have an "older" 7.3 diesel. It has roughly 250k miles on it, but since I usually only drive it 3-5k a year, I'll not be wearing it out.
That said, the gearhead in me will be following your build...
Good to know. I’m leaning towards the ‘21 seats because they shouldn’t also be worn out. I’m also considering a set of ‘07 seats that are in decent shape.
Part of what I’ll need to do is see what fits my 6’4”+ body best.
I can sort out the wiring... I don't even think my '97 has any seatbelt light. Worst case I'd have to swap the older buckles onto the older seats.
I seem to recall that, as you're saying, that the '97-'14 seats can be swapped. 2021 I'm less certain about, but I'm thinking I can make the work...
The front seats in my 1997 Ambulance are tired after 18k hours on the road. I'm looking at these seats from a 2021 E450 and wanting to know if they will fit without redesigning the world...
I'd probably dye them to match, but what do you all think?
As things work out, the deal fell through for the interior property. The seller was extremely uncooperative and we didn’t the information from the seller to buy insurance. Deal collapsed because we needed a couple extra days to get an insurance binder.
On another front… as timing works out. Ran...
I'll keep that in mind. It's likely that one of my son's will be moving to Calgary and another will be half way there. So... who knows, I may be visiting out that way.
Thanks Chris, it's good to know it works... not just in principle. My rig does have an abs sensor on each front wheel and one in the center of the rear Dana 70 axle. So I'll need to mix and match some parts to make the abs work right. It's good to know it has been done. The original pistons in...
I've not owned a V10 personally.
Based on the countless Diesel vs V10 debates, and other reading I've seen on V10s over the last 10 years, V10s are reliable, quiet, smooth, and get 10ish MPG for most driving.
Can't guarantee a specific V10 is reliable but everything I've seen indicates they...
I've got a '97 ambulance that a few years back I replaced the front brakes with 2001 parts...
I also replaced the Master and booster with 2001 parts.
I've been looking into 2008 and newer larger and thicker rotors and calipers. This is roughly what they'd look like. The first option would be...
I’d seriously consider Moog 880 or 880s variable rate coils for the front. 880s made a huge difference to how my 10k+ ambulance rides and handles. The 880s are extra load for heavier engines like my 7.3 psd. I suspect a V10 is similar in weight to the 7,3 but I could be wrong.
I’ve got 3500 lbs...
Based on online searches it appears the front dually spindles are the same 94-2010. Therefore, In theory, one could swap in 2008 larger and thicker rotors along with the matching 2008 calipers and pads.
Anyone ever upgraded ‘01 front dually brakes using “08 brake components?
I believe you should be able to modify those bases to fit an LED bulb. I have information in a thread on here about which LED I used. So much better than the halogen bulbs they replaced. 5 W bulbs threw more light, and more even light than the 35 W Halogen bulbs they replaced.
I’ll have to look into the front discs more. Although an extra half inch diameter does seem like that much, combined with the extra thickness, it should help reduce the likelihood of cooking the front rotors.
When I got the rig there was evidence that the callipers had got hot enough to turn...
