    Expeditions West 2004 Tacoma

Very cool Scott  How about air circulation/fresh air for the compressor? How air-tight is the box? Or are you only going to run it when parked/lid open?

Excellent!! FWIW, here is how I did mine... (I was going to attach the file here since my website is on the fritz right now, but the limit is 19kb. So here is the link - if it doesn't work, just keep trying periodically. )

WHEW! I was scared there for a minute! :xxrotflma LOL! Oh man, I am probably not the guy to talk to about brakes. My comfort level with weak brakes is scary. In fact, I really need to get mine adjusted. Thanks for reminding me ;) Maybe check out this page...

Hmmm... I wonder who he could be referring to? :) Regarding the gears, I think either way you go, there will be times when you smile and times when you roll your eyes. It's that whole trade-off thing. (insert jumping up and down smiley here) Scott, you need to get some more...

An M8000 Warn weighing less than 50lbs.?

I like your way of thinking Vince! :p (insert laughing smiley here) Regarding the controller, I really like the idea of wireless. What is the reason you guys aren't using it? Cost? Anyone know what this "Boomer Box" is from T-max?

    Tacoma and 4Runner Spares List

Here is a list of recalls/tsb's for the '96 and I don't see the head gasket on the list. However, this article says there is indeed a recall depending on the VIN. Again, it looks like you will have to call Toyota (have the VIN handy).

    Tacoma and 4Runner Spares List

If you are going to take brake pads, might as well take a pair of brake shoes too - especially if one of the axle seals decides to go (hopefully not though). The rear axle shafts are interchangeable as are the fronts. I have 122,000 miles on my original u-joints, with no problems thus far. I...

    Leaded gasoline in a 3.4L?

FWIW - I have run 85 octane (possibly lower) in mine with no problems, quite a bit in Mexico and here in the US. But not leaded regular.

    Fresh Water Storage

...or contamination. I don't have enough experience to recommend the best tank material, but I think stainless steel scores pretty high. Regardless of what you use, I think it would be a good idea to have some dedicated drinking water that is always filtered (put only filtered water into the...

This is just too cool :) Check out the bed setup that my buddy Steve has been working on. And while you are there, check out the sweet flip-arm LCD screen that he is using with his computer/GPS moving maps. http://bajataco.com/zr2steve/ZR2Steve.html This guy does lots of long-range trips all...

    Buy a good tent!

Indeed! I think you are the first person I have met that actually knew about them. Cool! I was always curious about that! And the clothes too... I just couldn't imagine it... I think I would be soaked from head to toe... Did you get to test out the bags or clothes? Here is a pic of my 3R...
