If it's going to be moderate anyway why not keep your 4runner? I understand you have a Series and want to go all LR and such but I think you will be happier with the 4Runner in the long run especially when the maintenance starts racking up or the electronics start faulting.

I just read through the RMEC trip report and that really looked like an amazing trip with beautiful scenery and the rain seemed to make the views that much more dramatic! Hiking up to Sneffels. Putting away some whiskey. Pucker factor on the switchbacks. Perfect!

Bungee or ratchet straps? Outside or inside? I didn't like the velcro straps so I used a set of black ratchet straps I already had. My interior bungee straps never failed.
