Can`t remember what exactly but i can remember i was going to build new ones. I think they`re too narrow or something like that. Wait, i think the tire guides are too narrow for the tires i`m going to use on this machine.
Look`l like i`m back working on this.
Made a relocation bracket for the...
I`ll be building all new tracks for this.
Hope to be back on this the next week or two. I`m really busy at school right now. But i also got my shop all cleaned up and some really nice new tools and machines.
Added a 16" disk sander to my 10hp beltsander:
Got a new (1908) drill press and...
Thanks.
Progress will be slowed down a good amount. We`re starting to get our stuff going for winter season, building new skis, getting the gear and cabin ready. As soon as snow falls i`ll be out there skiing.
Also got a call today from the school i`m taking my apprenticeship as a car...
Thanks man. Progress is slow on the Quadrotrac cause it's raining all day long and the tubing bender is outside. Also preparing winter season, building stuff for the tempering oven some other stuff like new skis...
Thanks.
So i didn`t feel like bending tube today, so i worked on some little things:
First the hourmeter:
And the three switches. Front working lights, rear working lights and amber flashers :
And some pics of the whole unit:
Got three more tubes bend up today:
This is by far the most challenging and time consuming work i`ve ever done in my shop. Not really happy with most of the tubes, but the tubing is way to expensive to do them again...
Got some parts today:
Then i started bending the next tube. This one was a bit longer and my shop is just to small. So i build a solution for it:
Works great:
One more finished:
Of course it started raining then...
Yes, it takes an insane amount of time...
Tried to figure out how to run the lines using some welding wire:
Then i started bending one of the more complicated lines:
And of course i messed it up, but at least i could save part of it for another :
Started building the rear body panel today:
Drilled it:
Needed some washer to reinforce it, so i made some:
Everything together:
Tacked on:
Then i started bending the easiest tube:
Finished:
Fit`s great:
And the second one:
Well, that`s the plan. Not actually be completely finished but ready for some test driving. If it`s working i`m planning on building a grooming sled for it so i can use it, before finishing all the small stuff that will be left to finish it.
Going to start bending some tube tomorrow. Just need...
Doing my best getting back to work, but this stuff is really expensive. Was about $700 for the tubing and another $500 for the connectors and stuff. But i should get it the next days and then i can start to bend some tubing...
