I hope so, but i don`t really think it`ll happen...
Did some testing with the anti-wheelie-device and it works like it`s supposed to:
Really fun to drive, can`t wait for some snow...
Just general offroading and probably snow. Not going fast, no excessive rock crawling.
Will be somehow small and use a small engine, so 20mph top would be ok.
Hi guys,
i`m looking for the ultimate offroad concept. Doesn`t matter if it is tracked, wheeled, screw drive, 4x4, 10x10 or something else. I`d would like to know what you guys think is best and why.
Probably going to build the winner, so let`s hear your ideas.
We got a little bit of snow today so i thought i could repair the clutch on the motodog:
Wanted to put in the stiffer springs i bought, but i shouldn`t have:
Luckily i had a spare part from the second clutch:
Drove in front of the shop to pick up the trailer:
Ready to ride...
Wanted to replace the clutch discs today:
Looks like i burned then pretty hard:
Unfortunately the steel discs are worn too. Need to replace them too:
So i stopped and made some tie down points for the trailer:
I`m going to build something like that, but not quite sure how...
Bought some steel and a trailer lighting setup:
Had to shorten it a bit:
Finished:
Drilled the skis for the mounts:
This is how i want to carry them:
Fabricated the mounts:
On the trailer:
Finished:
Thanks man.
We got a little bit of snow yesterday and i really wanted to test this thing. So i hooked up the trailer and shift down to first. For whatever reason i could only get down to third gear. Also the clutch was slipping a bit. So i adjusted it all the way out, but it already was almost...
Thanks man, i sure will. Got some freeriding and ice climbing planned...
Drove the Motodog on the trailer to see how the layout is coming out and check if the seat fits::
Couldn`t resist to put it together and test drive it a small distance on the street. Feels great:
Fabricated the seat...
I'll just mount a small boat winch on the trailer to winch it in. Think its pretty dangerous to drive on the trailer under its own power on those slippery steep ramps.
Unfortunately theres not enough snow yet, but heading to Austria next week and trying to take it with me then.
First i checked the fitment of the ski today:
Looks great so i started building the second one:
Then i started welding. Unfortunately i didn`t notice/ignored the fact that the sheetmetal is galvanized. This results in absolutely fugly looking welds. Luckily this will be covered by a...
I think i came up with a pretty neat solution, will see if it works when it`s finished.
Picked up my cut out sheetmetal and tacked it together:
Looks like it fits:
And welded it on the outside so i can sand it nice and smooth:
Cut up the rotten wood from the tailgate:
And put it...
Exactly. Thats why i can't completely custom build it, it needs to be street legal.
Still not sure if i should put some smaller wheels under the skis or not, so it wouldn't drag over dirt when theres a a few feet without snow.
First i picked up the ramps today:
Then i put the trailer back together:
Remounted the fenders. Used spraypaint to transfer holes:
Back on:
Then i did some cardboard engineering on the foot well...
Can`t wait to try it out too... :Wow1:
Picked up the trailer today:
Looks pretty good:
Pulled it apart:
This is a pretty comfortable riding position, will use this for reference:
Pulled the enclosure back about 8":
Lengthend the frame :
Drilled new holes:
Applied...
