I don't think anybody question the magnificence of the 6.7 Cummins here.
The discussion is about the small halftons diesels which of course lack the longevity of the larger diesels or se we are told.
As far as the small diesels go it is clear, in these thread at least that some people have had...
Yes, the GM does give some great numbers for power and mpg but their fuel pump is located in the back of the engine and you will have to drop the gearbox to change it.
Though the GM engineer did say in the interview that it is very sold build and runs on chain.
My personal conclusion is that...
I have a genuine question,
Is it possible that your engine is exception, a strange anomaly?
And maybe, the deletion of EGR & DPF has allowed your truck to achieve 277K without too much headache?
The mpg you get is really great... this is why small diesels are so attractive.
We hear you and you might have a point here but the old NA engines will be replaced soon by overly complicated, modern turbo engines mated with some sort of hybrid system.
For first 10 years they will be unreliable like everything else was in early stage, auto transmission comes in mind.
If you...
I have always wanted to hunt them. I know a few guys who go up in norther Quebec to hunt them but I think it's different ptarmigan
Yes, I fallow him on social media.
My surprise was more about the places they live in the west such very aired high deserts forest where in the upper Midwest and...
Sorry for asking, I am not trying to fish the spots, are these birds available in Colorado or you hunt them elsewhere (WY, ID & MT comes in mind)?
I was surprised to know that people hunt ruffed grouse in places like ID and OR...
I really struggles to understand why GM is like this...
The largest manufacturer with huge recourses can't get things fully done.
Also these days why is it hard to make a good V8? Like it's been here 100 years. And it not some Belorussian tractor company, we are talking about GM.
For the...
They are gonna absorb things very fast. Also this is great timing for a pup to be born. The whole spring and summer is ahead which allows them to get very comfortable with water while they are still small.
My pup only saw snow for her 6 month of life.
Even after that the water was so cold that...
@PirateMcGee
Congrats! keeps us posted pls.
Yeah my favorite is less people and slow pace. I once attended a pheasant hunt... it was a grope of 12-15... didn't quite like it.
That was my understanding that the 7.3 is a "modern" engine whatever new and unproven things are associated with it (given strict EPA regulations too).
I would love to be proven wrong.
Thanks, this is very interesting.
One question, isn't what you described more of an "old schools engine" than...
I am very much interested in the new 3.3 or the 6.2 if I go with a 3/4.
I like keep thing longer. A truck should last me 10 years.
Simplicity is a virtue.
Are you referring to the atmospheric 3.7 that ford replaced with a new 3.3?
I wonder how does those two compare in terms of performance and reliability?
Sorry, yes I meant F250 vs F150. It's not uncommon to see an F250 gas at 200K mile that runs just fine
There are some people who still recommend going with a 6.2 and 6 speed instead of the new 7.3 and 10 speed due to the fact that both item, the 6.2 and the 6 speed have got very good record.
Yeah that thing is very handy. My friend's dad has an XL F-150 which almost always stays in H4 in winter. (North of Toronto, around Barrie)
lol. The Chevy 2500 is ugly, but the GM 2500 is OK. Interior is bad in both.
Is it just me that thinks that Ford HD trucks are more reliable than the SD?
Also, is the 6 speed, usually mated with the 6.2 gas, a reliable transmission?
I think now I got what you meant. Thank you.
It does seam that this new 6.6 makes a good mpg... there are videos people achieving like 21mpg (driving empty at 65 mph).
