3rz will get about the same mileage. I've owned about a dozen 5vze's (3 currently) - you're the first person I've heard describe them as slow. lol
And lift/gears - give about 25% of what they'd cost to install.

These days, Ford doesn't have to offer incentives... none do... because supply is so limited.
But, to Ford's credit, they do post window stickers on line. So if you do a build, they have an option to search inventory and see stickers. Perfect? Naw... but it's helpful.
Point of correction... My last 2 F350's have had vacuum boosters. The reason most Diesel trucks generally had hydroboost is because they don't create enough vacuum w/o a vacuum pump.
Many smaller vehicles have come with hydroboost as well - Chevy Astro van's are great sources for junk yard...
Does it currently have blocks?
RoughCountry makes a pretty affordable 2" block kit. I think with blocks and ubolts it was <$75 for my tacoma.
I'm not a fan of blocks, but there are times they make good sense. I'd probably do them in this case as to not change the geometry of the leaf springs...
