From the little bit I have gathered, there is some belief that the way the McHitch supports weight is not ideal. Weight kind of supported out on a lever. I have seen some people report that this leverage can make disconnecting difficult but I have no first hand experience. You guys would be a...
Actually made the EOS work this past week in the San Juan Mountains north of Durango. Made a poor choice in continuing down a road that got too narrow to turn around and relatively rocky with some decent mud holes. We got lucky though and about 2 slow miles in was a suitable turnaround but also...
After keeping tabs on a couple the Ember related Facebook groups they became an absolute no go for me. Too many people having issues that simply point to poor quality control in manufacturing and many were having a lot of issues getting the issues taken care of. To be fair, like reading reviews...
Reduced battery bank. Reduced solar. Smaller water tank then Treefarmer's 100 gallons and you could shave several hundred pounds off at full load out. Still going to be a load for an F-150 as a bumper pull. Just because the tow rating says you could doesn't necessarily mean you should. ;-)

With the AC option they are at like 106" so there was no chance they were getting under 96" and maintain the off-road clearance. I guess they could have reduced the height of the hard walls but that would have made the closed usability less and meant taller soft walls. All abou trade offs.

Yep, the sink will be small with a cover to create counter top space. The sink is really just for the convenience of washing hands, brushing teeth, etc without going back outside and pulling out the whole kitchen slide when you are already comfortable inside.

I'm working towards all the mods you mentioned. Working up designs now. Also looking at adding cargo netting or pouches along the passenger wall above the bench for small item storage. I'm also strongly considering removing the small section of bench seat on the passenger side and replacing it...
Another trip in the books for the EOS. Did some scouting and found plenty more really nice campsites for the EOS to crawl back to.
Successfully tested the Truma Combi hot water. Deployed the 270* awning and managed to get it folded back up nicely.
Also, installed a Foli Sleep System under the...
I suspect you are talking about an Anderson style plug? Another option you could do is change your 12V socket to the one that ARB offers where the plug has a screw on collar to secure it. You would have to change your plug end also to the ARB male end but shouldn't be too hard.

Net or pouch storage along the walls would be useful. I'm strongly considering removing the small bench section to build a small drawer/dresser in the spot. I'm also thinking about removing the driver side bench and building a counter/cabinet there with a small sink for hand/face washing...
Shakedown trip in the books. Used most systems and all was good. We definitely need to decide how we want things organized and I definitely have some modifications in mind. First one for us is that the fixed table has got to go. It's a nice table but it is too big and in the way. We will never...
I'm finally in the game and off the sidelines researching and obsessing about trailers. Picked this up over the weekend. Let the new adventures begin...in comfort.

For Taxa awareness if you don't already know, I learned from Taxa while doing a little research for a buddy interested in a Mantis, they have switched back to the Dexter torsion axles from the Lipperts that were having problems. I didn't know this but they also used Dexter axles prior to the...
This type of rig and the higher cost they run are a niche market to begin with. You are already facing a small subset of the people in the market for an RV that can stomach the price of this type of trailer over your mass produced traditional units. This is why the off-road market has been able...
These rigs are also being built to order and I suspect the people ordering are in it for the long haul unlike someone deciding to go down to the local dealer and pick up a trailer. I wouldn't count on seeing a used one for a long while.

You need to search on here for Treefarmer. They are the original Kingdom Camping XL build and the ones that worked closely with Kingdom in the design. There is only one complete XL in existence with one in the build process. It is a phenomenal build for the price.

Interesting. I didn't realize Taxa had previously used Dexter axles and switched to the troublesome Lippert units. I was messaging with an associate on the Taxa website today and he did confirm Taxa has switched to Dexter axles on new units. He could not tell me at what point they switched from...
Has the axle been inspected or replaced by Lippert? Unless the Trek had the Timbren suspension and I am not familiar. I have a friend looking for a Mantis.

I had a Rich Solar suit case that I connected to a home built power box I made for my last RTT camping trailer. It worked quite well. I like the idea of extending your roof top capacity with portable suitcase panels that you can chase the sun with. Then if you end up camping where your trailer...
Not bad. Looks like they were kind of trying to resemble the Boreas EOS-12 but with a side entry. Size is pretty similar but with a less than spec. It costs less than the EOS-12 too though.
Lance trailers have pretty decent construction by US mass produced trailer standards. Pretty sure they...
