As far as I know they were factory for 2500 models. The front axle has a wider track width than the rear on 2500 models and that was a way for the factory to increase tire coverage.
Here’s a few of my 04 Yukon XL. No action shots on trails but definitely our camping, traveling, towing rig. We’ll be exploring soon enough.

When I put the cognito arms on my 04 Yukon xl 2500 I also had to spread the ears open a bit. I don’t have exact measurements but a crescent wrench made it quick and easy. I don’t remember having to do it on my dually and these arms were pulled from my dually and rebuilt with new bushings and...
I would also stick with AC delco. but avoid the ACdelco Professional line if possible. Those are basically parts store quality parts. the Delphi or ACdelco OEM are usually higher quality componenets.
Agreed on the limited options and most of them are pricey!
I ended up finding someone that had a set of Trail Ready bumpers for my 2500 that someone bought and never used. So I scored a deal on those. The front seems a little big but it actually has better clearance than the stock one. So I...
I’ve had new and used trucks a plenty. Honestly. If you find a used truck well cared for and the previous owner respected it and maintained it not just Jerry rigged it than I’d jump on it. I recently bought a 14 year old Yukon xl 2500 (2004) with the 8.1 with the intention of swapping a Duramax...
Curious about what part of them doesnt fit? is it the width of the unit or something to do with the back extra flex joint on the back side?
I’m curious about adding them to my 04 2500.
That is very tempting. But gotta keep a low key family hauler road trip queen for now. I have two wranglers for the fun off road stuff.

Ohh sorry about that.
They are made by TrailReady. Not cheap but stout.
Front is the base winch bumper (p/n 10500B)
Rear is their basic rear bumper (p/n 55500)
The front fits perfectly with the new grill.
The rear was made for the pickup so the little area in the corners of the lift gate are...
Actually picked them up local from a guy that bought them for his 2500 Sierra and never used them. They were still wrapped in a box.
I ended up swapping the front grill for one from a Sierra as well so the lines matched. The Yukon grill is a little more rounded as seen here in this photos.
Yup. Technically it is on tons. [emoji1] It’s got the entire running gear from a 2006 3500 SRW pickup. But obviously no Solid axle up front.

Yeah thanks! With all the crazy drivers out it’s like insurance that I have a better chance of driving away after an accident. No winch yet I was concerned about weight but it’s surprisingly not incredibly heavier than the stock setup. Maybe 60-70 lbs more? The stock one was heavier than I had...
I’m about to embark on the same spare tire issue. Planning to run 285s on h2’s. Have you tried to put it underneath in the stock location? I don’t really plan on off-roading in the suburban (got a Jeep for that). But curious how it fits. Thx.
I believe he’s implying factory from gm. Not necessarily the suburban. Those are factory equipment on 06-07 HD pickups. They bolt in on the suburban and if options are similar the wiring is plug and play too. I have a set on my 04 Yukon from an 06 Silverado 3500.
285/70/17?
I’m debating doing the same wheel and tire size combo.
Haven’t decided on the actual tire. But that combo looks real good on the suburban.
Nice job.
Since you mentioned you have some bikes as alternative transportation and the wife’s newer suv, I’d hands down keep the burb. I second everything that’s already been\ mentioned. If you do have a problem, its very likely someone has already experienced it and knows how to fix it saving you in...
CrazyDrei, have you ever taken the rig through the mud? Maybe previous owner? My friend had an 01 Tahoe that was subjected to mud ( I mean hammering through a mud pit purposely) early on in its life. Well 12+ years later the mud and water had corroded and pitted the area where the knock sensors...
