    Suggestions for camping/cooking gear please

I go low tech, and storage my field kitchen in an Action Packer plastic storage box, made by Rubbermaid. This has worked for my family of 4 for over 20 years.

Porsche 924 Turbo - Baja Style

I looked it up. The normally aspirated 924 had 110hp. The Turbo was a huge bump up to 170hp. That's a pretty big increase. I've only driven my son's non-turbo 944, so I can't really compare.

Porsche 924 Turbo - Baja Style

That is pretty cool. In that video, that 4 banger sounds great, but wow is second gear a bit tall.

Porsche 924 Turbo - Baja Style

Well, it is a fresh engine with a turbo! And its a manual. Probably fairly fun to drive I would think. My son has a non-turbo 944 and with that rear transaxle, rowing through the gears is an audible experience, the transmission is right behind you, and the gears go snick, snick, snick just...

How tough is it to source parts for a 2.5?

It is getting much harder. Go to RockAuto and see what is available in stock verses backorder, and that will be a good indicator. OEM Mitsubishi parts website exist also, but I have found them to be hit or miss. My daughter get into a rear-ender with her Monty and the body shop had a really...

    Gen 3 to Gen 2.5

I've owned a 91, two 98's, and a 2002 Montero. I loved them all. I think the 98 is my favorite, as it drives a bit lighter and a bit more truck-like (bouncier for sure!), and just feels more nimble. I put 33" tires on all of them, and used them off road quite a bit. The 2002 is nicer on the...

55QT Rotomolded Cooler at Costco for $140

There is a pretty nice cooler on sale at Costco right now. Its yet another YETI clone, but looks really well made, and it's a fraction of the price of anything I've seen elsewhere (REI, Bass Pro, etc...). If you've been hesitant to spend $400 on a cooler, this might be the one for you...

2020 Land Rover Defender is a Nightmare

I'm not your lawyer, nor do I play on TV, but most States have lemon laws that require mfr buy back after certain criteria. You might qualify. Did your dealer provide a loaner vehicle? If not, you might have some standing in terms of not paying or delay paying. At the very least, you should...

    Open truck bed and rain?

Waterproof duffles used in rafting are fantastic, but not cheap. You might prefer a larger solution such as a Platypus from ROLA. Very well made, holds a lot, extremely good at fending off the worst Mother Nature might throw at it (excluding tornados of course)...

    Receiver Shackle Advice Please

Bill Burke recommends just inserting the eye of your recovery strap into the hitch receiver, and threading the hitch pin through both. The hitch pin carries the load. While extremely simple, I have always been a bit dubious about this method

Will the New USSC Gun Rights Decision Change How, When, If You Carry a Firearm in Your Rig?

If that is a real question, I will point out that many CCW holders who have had to actually draw their weapon, have done so in defense of others, not necessarily themselves. Its the whole, "How do you stop a bad guy with a gun, with a good guy with a gun" scenario.

Best $200 (or less) Tool Kit for College Student?

So, I ordered a tool roll the other day, just to see what I could legit fit in it. Its a bit bulky, and I'll probably stick with the two smaller BucketBoss tool wraps I've been using, but in the name of science, I had to test it out. Here is what I fit in the tool roll (also from Bucket Boss)...

Well, she knows how to install exhaust manifolds on her Montero (I took advantage of her long skinny arms and hands)

Best $200 (or less) Tool Kit for College Student?

That is a good argument, but misses a very important point. Someone WITH mechanical abilities and a 25 year old car would ALREADY have tools onboard. By me asking the question, and giving scenarios such as changing a battery, but not up to changing an alternator, clearly establishes the level...

It isn't sexist if it fits the personality of the person, and accurately describes the situation.
