2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

Seems like the Dever spring simply stacks shorter springs into the pack. In effect simply making the block integral to the spring pack. End result appears to be the same.

2020 Ford F250 on 37s - Expedition Truck Camper Build!

You’ve done a lot of research and gained a lot of knowledge. Have you ever looked into exhaust or engine brakes for gas trucks such as yours?

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

Chad I couldn't agree more. Except to say my stock F350 work truck runs 35" with no issue. Not that I even know how it ended up with those. I think Les Schwab sold one of my employee's a bill of goods while my attention was diverted.

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

Wow I am through the first 13 pages. I started skimming. My overall take away is stay as stock as possible and aftermarket springs front and rear custom calibrated for the constant weight of truck and camper are well worth doing. Everything else is debatable. Back to thinking I will stick...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

I have not seen the thread you mention "Ninelitetrip". I will certainly read it. Thank you. Chad your thought, "fit the largest size that will fit stock" makes a lot of sense. I would think a 35" for sure would fit. Plus they are readily available. Honestly might try to run stock...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

Chad, great info thank you. You make some really good points. My current camper doesn’t have an awning. It is something I feel a need for but for whatever reason never got around to installing one. I did explore briefly, including actually setting one up once, the use of a simple tarp attached...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

i actually purchased an Alucap awning. However the Bush Company awning extends two feet further. Not sure what you mean by too much. I think the driver side might be only seldom used so why bother. I’m unsure about the shower curtain. Not a fan of how it “dirties” up the side of the camper...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

I managed to place an order for a cab chassis yesterday afternoon. The hope is that with in three weeks I will be given an delivery date. What better sign of the times??? I am going to move slowly here. Things I am considering for the F350. Carli Suspension system. Up sizing to 37" tires...

With mixed emotions I report that my camper has sold. Funds were received today. Bittersweet day for sure. It's new owner will be served well by the camper; I certainly was. Congratulations to him. Thank you to all who expressed interest and special thanks to all who reached out to express...

then you’ll discover the cost to rebuild is peanuts compared to the cost of a new rig. ??

if you don’t keep a rig long enough for a rebuild why does it even matter to you? apology accepted

no idea. Always something. I’d not own MB. Had four in my fleet at one time. Always breaking down. Most problematic rigs I’ve ever owned.

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

My personal finances are personal. I find your comment in poor taste. Perhaps I should have said inexpensive and not cheap. 6,000 to rebuild a gas pickup engine. 6,000 hrs before rebuild. I think you should expect two or even three times that. Anyway at six and six your cost of operation as it...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

You need to add on to the HBE the cost of the tray. I’d think you should also add to it the cost of the options that are standard on the Base Camp.. also 3% is less than 3,000, you won’t get much custom fabrication for that. Which could be irrelevant. if the only issue you have with the HBE...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

Only thing I learned today that is relevant to post is that the interior cooktop is an induction burner and a propane burner. I inquired about two propane or two induction burners. Apparently the single induction burner is easy to remove thereby allowing access to the furnace, water heater...
