I decided to mount the towel holder in front of the forward Mule bag, I have a nice open space in that location and it's a perfect location for easy access.
Mounted onto the L-track.
And a roll of towels installed.
And a quick video showing how...
Update time. We had the van up for sale for a very short time and decided we use it to much so took it off the market. With camping season fast approaching it's time to get a few things done on the van.
I'm tired of constantly unzipping the Mule bag every time I need a paper towel...
Hello Folks, for those who have followed me on my past builds this won't be a surprise :-). Squirrel mode has once again kicked in and our van is now up for sale. I sold the last vehicle to fund an airplane and ended up building the van instead, now I'm selling the van to make the airplane...
Agreed I do like the mounting solution on the Vancompass sliders better than the Backland units, but that said it came down to asthetics for me. I don't personally care for the look of the VC sliders with the flat plate construction and for how I intend to use them either will be sufficiently...
The sliders themselves are steel and rock solid, the mounts will be the weakest point. Normally a slider would be mounted right to a frame, but with the sprinter lacking an actual fame a compromise has to me made. Although the sliders are very stout and very solid I will keep the mounting...
It was actually pretty easy. I measured, market out and drilled all 8 of the pinch seam holes on each side. Then put the slider in place and drilled through the slider through the pre-drilled holes, quick and easy. The rest of the rivet nut holes were marked and drilled on an individual...
Your gonna love them. I took about 6-7 hrs, but that includes time to fabricate spacers and time to remove and re-install both plastic footwells on the driver's and passenger side. Make sure you have a low profile manual rivet nut setter on hand.

The two middle brackets on the drivers side didn't quite match up with the body and left a gap, looks like maybe a slight error in manufacturing. I fabricated some steel spacers to fill the gap and everything fit up nicely.
The rear mounts get drilled and...
Backland Expedition Gear Slider Install.
After installing the lift I wanted to install a set of sliders. The sliders offer several benefits: They act as a solid step, protect the rocker panels from damage, protect the side of the van from door dings, can act as bench to sit on or a table...

Travel Light, Travel Fast!
Weighted our van this morning, fully loaded for travel (Except clothing and food) and weights in at 7320 lbs total, GVRW is 8550. Not bad as that includes the roof rack, 34" tires, full 47 gallon fuel tank, suspension with 2" lift...

After using the deflators to drop the pressure in the front tires to 25psi It's time to test out the new compressor and manifold to see how long it takes the compressor to air up the two 34" tires from 25 psi to 50 psi.
Attaching the air hose to the valve stems...

The controls to the Switch pro are in my headliner, located within easy reach just above the dome light.
With the compressor wired and now fully installed I turned my attention to setting up a dual tire inflation setup. This setup will allow me to fill (Or...

I used a 90 Deg air tool and a rotofile bit open up a hole to clear the new wiring, this will allow the cap to snap back in place and protect the terminal from accidental shorts.
Shortening the trigger wire harness, only the small section on the bottom will...
