its more driver than vehicle. a good driver can get an ill prepared vehicle into places where a properly prepped vehicle with a inexperienced couldn't. 5% tires, 5% vehicle, 90% driver ;)

nice work. looks good! i cant suggest any lock mechanisms, but id wait to add windows until you finalize the build out inside the box. we had all kinds of things change to the design inside our van once we actually started living in it.

iirc, the winnebago revel has them. the flared out window dealios on the rear windows so you can sleep side to side instead of front to back.
