love this car/build. non standard cars are the most fun!
you should post up the link to the build for people just seeing it for the first time.
did I see where you ran this car at a rally?
nice! been contemplating one of these myself. I thought your steering was pretty crisp already after driving your van compared to mine. worth the moola huh?
sooo, uhhh, never saw any other disturbing pix come across my phone. healing up ok?
its more driver than vehicle. a good driver can get an ill prepared vehicle into places where a properly prepped vehicle with a inexperienced couldn't. 5% tires, 5% vehicle, 90% driver ;)
nice work. looks good!
i cant suggest any lock mechanisms, but id wait to add windows until you finalize the build out inside the box. we had all kinds of things change to the design inside our van once we actually started living in it.
^^^ also find that kinda crazy. youd think youd stick to what you know best and know how to diagnose/fix the stuff you've been wrenching on for so long. would love to hear why chevy isn't on your radar as an option.
as far as choosing between those 2 i have no real life input other than both...
^^^ i haven't had that happen with the 40 door...at least i don't think, lol. i have reached a few camps after less than desirable roads and found those doors not all the way shut, so maybe?? i always blamed it on the wife not getting that door completely shut. either way theres a lot of people...
i don't have sealant between my canvas and van body. have only seen it leak once and it was when i was doing 75-80mph on the freeway during a torrential downpour. even then, it was very little moisture that made it into the cab. one square of paper towel was more than enough to dry it up. i do...
^^^ its just a thin piece of white foam. with mine, its completely dark up top when window shades are up.
things could have easily changed since 2013, but my canvas is gray both inside and out because he put the canvas back towards the foam both inside and out. my canvas is the exact color you...
^^^ lack of other options is why i did. while i like the looks of the smb top, the wasted space in front was a deal breaker. ccv's top utilizes all available space. plus smb is always at least a year out. once derek had my money i only had to wait around a month.
i have no need for stealth...
was actually posting for rob as he requested. I figured you had seen them by your description. if id seen anything else out there in my surfing, id post up.
the speed of the opt top intrigues me, but I wouldn't like the roll up window/shades. I like being able to keep my ccv top windows...
^^^ well said.
great post op. most all of the bad review threads I see focus only on the negatives. I appreciate you taking the time to post up positive things too. gives people more info all the way around to make a solid decision on which way they want to go with their vehicle.
^^^ we spend a lot of time camping and exploring in the owhyee desert. last weekend was our first camping trip this year and we spent a couple night at succor creek. ill pm you when we decide to travel a little deeper into the state and maybe we could meet up if the stars align. theres...
