    Build Thread: Burni

If you are not having a passthru, a hard sided poptop is not really a technical challenge and this negates the need for any canvas. :)

    220v or 110v

Geeez... how to resurrect an old thread! :) I think this subject is a bit moot these days, as it really does not matter any more. If you plan on traveling the world, pack whatever AC appliances you may want to use and connect them to your battery powered inverter. That way all you have to worry...

2011-2015 Canter/Fuso dual range transfer case swap possible?

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong here, but I am pretty sure that you would need to change the gearbox too if you want to add a transfer case. Doable, but definitely not a cheap option, especially if you are also adding international freight to the cost.

    I straight piped my FG….and then I didn’t.

All that said, it's not truly a 3" exhaust system unless you replace the OEM dump pipe at the back of the turbo. The OEM dump pipe squeezes down to 2 1/4", which creates a flow restriction right after the turbo. When I originally changed my 2 1/4" exhaust to 3" I simply used a short conical...

Just make sure they are legal in your country before committing to them, as I am pretty sure that they are no longer legal in Australia.

Importing a Crew Cab Left Hand Drive Mitsubishi Fuso Canter 4x4

Here in Australia these trucks are very common, so when it comes to doing things like swapping out a cab. more people would be aware of what's involved. The same cannot be said for the US/Canada. If you had strong mechanical skills and were doing the work yourself, this could be a viable...

Importing a Crew Cab Left Hand Drive Mitsubishi Fuso Canter 4x4

Don't rule out using a bed lift, as that can give you significant extra usable living space. Also... be aware that a bed that changes into a seating area has to be made up on a daily basis. That can get old really quick, especially if you plan on living in the camper for extended periods.

Having trouble finding information about Fuso vs Isuzu vs Hino in Canada.

I will let Allan answer that question, as I am not familiar with this model; it is not sold in Australia.

Having trouble finding information about Fuso vs Isuzu vs Hino in Canada.

As I see it... your are comparing comments made about extending a frame for a 19 foot camper against a 16 foot 6 inch camper. Am I missing something here?

Hmmmmmm... I must admit, I had not considered doing that. ?

Engaging 4WD High without locking hubs (FG649)

Also... if, as you say, you have a diff center from ATW, it will be a Quaife Auto Torque Biasing (ATB) differential. This is from the Quaife website: "the Quaife ATB Differential does not require any special lubricants"

Engaging 4WD High without locking hubs (FG649)

What's the point of engaging 4WD, high or low, without engaging the front hubs? It just does not make sense, as it would have absolutely no effect.

    RADAR RENEGADE RT 37X12.5XR17

You mention that these would be a custom built rim. Is there a reason why you cannot get a custom built 17" rim? It's your truck and you will do what you want with it, but I know that I would not feel safe fitting 17" tyres on a 17.5" rim.

    RADAR RENEGADE RT 37X12.5XR17

How are you going to fit a 17" tyre onto a 17.5" rim? The bead will not seat correctly.

    RADAR RENEGADE RT 37X12.5XR17

    I'm confused... That's a 17" tyre, not a 17.5" tyre.

How do you torque your nuts????

On the Fuso there is a pretty wide torque range for the wheel nuts, so going a bit over or under is probably not a major issue. That said, I was taught that another reason for torquing nuts/bolts was to get them all tightened as close as possible to each other, as that spreads the load more...

How do you torque your nuts????

I do not have one of these, so I cannot give any first hand advice, but they do look like they would work fine. Definitely cheaper and smaller than my torque wrench. From watching videos of how these work, it looks like you could over or under torque the nuts if you are not fully focused on the...
