    AEV Ram HD snorkel question

Your experience may differ, but snorkel or not, my truck barely, and I mean barely, fits into the automatic car wash stalls. As in, it's a matter of 1" on either side of the mirrors. I actually had one of the automated heads crack the clear blinker housing on the mirror as it caught it on the...

    Ram 5500 Suspension Upgrades??

Buckstop offers a 3 1/2" kit as part of their single wheel conversion kit. It's a basic spacer lift. Talk to Don Thuren about some King shocks for that application. I seem to recall hes done stuff for 5500s.

Big MAW build (Ford E350 7.3)

Buddy with an E350 did Lizard Skin up to the windows (https://lizardskin.com/). Seemed to work pretty well. He also put Dynamat in all of the doors, and a full length Bedrug. Those made a significant difference in interior noise.

Big MAW build (Ford E350 7.3)

Great find! You are right, they are exceedingly rare, especially one with less than 100K on it. Just make sure to go nuts with sound deadener while you have the interior out. Those things are resonance chambers.

Lady Godiva: 2017 Ram 3500 CCLB Build

In my opinion, no, you would not save any headache removing the trim from the steering wheel. In most places the trim is far enough inboard that it never got in the way.

Lady Godiva: 2017 Ram 3500 CCLB Build

We sold the wife's car when we moved from Colorado, and ended up picking up a loaded Mazda CX-5 for here on this side of the country. Gotta say I'm a bit envious of a few of the comforts such as the leather interior and, more importantly, the backup camera/blind spot monitors. There's enough...

Lady Godiva: 2017 Ram 3500 CCLB Build

Well, our trip has been over for a while now, I've just been too busy doing home renovations so we have a place to live. Final stats: 1 year, 1.5 months 42 states 4 provinces 8 border crossings 34K miles driven 1 flat tire 0 accidents 0 traffic citations 3 roadkills (all birds, oddly) 15.3...

New Diesel Owner - Remote Locale + Cold Weather

A lot of stations sell a diesel blend that is weather appropriate, just like they do for gasoline. I've only seen a couple of gas stations in my travels that offer a DIY bar of Diesel #1 (Kerosene, better for cold temps but less energy dense), 50/50, and Diesel #2 (what you normally get) as...

Moving from a Tundra to a 3500... Pros and Cons???

With that kind of weight, I would definitely take a hard look at stepping up to a 5500. While that's still in the realm of the 3500, the 5500 will shoulder that load better and do so with less wear and tear on various components. Suspension wise, Kelderman offers kits for the 5500. IIRC they...

Moving from a Tundra to a 3500... Pros and Cons???

Once you start looking at C&C models, I wonder if moving up the 5500 is a prudent choice. It's not that much more expensive than the 3500, and you get a more robust vehicle to boot, though I suppose this may only be smart once you start considering 40" tires through an AEV style kit. Throw on...

Moving from a Tundra to a 3500... Pros and Cons???

If it was in my budget, I would have gone with the chassis cab model. Throw on a flatbed or utility bed offers: they offer so much more flexibility than a standard bed. Not to mention you get the 50 gallon rear mounted tank vs the 32 midship. What are your intentions with the build? 35s...

Moving from a Tundra to a 3500... Pros and Cons???

While not entirely the same, I went from a CCLB Tacoma to a CCLB Ram 3500 recently. Our goal was slightly different as it was for an extended road trip, but my findings should still be valid. Upside, especially if you go diesel, is power and MPGs. My truck is still on 3.42s and 35s, and I'm...

AEV Prospector XL Flatbed Adventure Rig

In addition to the storage locker in front of the camper, I highly suggest some on the underside of the bed, both in front of and behind the wheels. You'll want/need as much storage space as you can get, and those are great places to store tools or gear you dont want floating around inside.

RAM 3500 MegaCab Cummins/Aisin AEV XL on 40"s with iKAMPER RTT

Katzkin for the leather seats. Fully customizable too should you choose to want something a little different. Just move quickly if so, I think they have a materials related $100 increase set to hit in a week.

Truck bed comparison - custom options

You checked out Sherptek at all? I had an opportunity to oogle their setup and it looks like a pretty solid, modular design. The idea of being able to take boxes on and off quickly is appealing. https://sherptek.com/

    ‘15 Ram Cummins multi-purpose build

I would agree about the shift points on the 68RFE. With the camper on, my truck bogs down between 30-35 mph, almost as if the transmission is trying to make it work with too high of a gear. It's easily solved with some skinny pedal, but can be annoying when it happens.

    2019 Ram 2500 or 2020 Ford F-250???

Not to be cynical, but how long do you plan on holding onto this truck for? It would be a real shame to bear the brunt of depreciation if you offload it a year down the road. As to Ram or Ford, I don't know if either has a feature so desirable that would push me into that brand. Both are good...

AEV Prospector XL Flatbed Adventure Rig

Hell yea! Looking forward to seeing this progress. Like you, we started with a Tacoma but quickly found it to be a bit small and underpowered. After living out of our truck + camper for the past year, I can confidently say that youll very much appreciate the flexibility the flatbed affords...

Ford Superduty Tremor "off road" 2020 F250/F350.

I pity the poor souls from FoMoCo who watch these forums. They've probably spent the past few years reading thread after thread of people complaining about the lack of payload in the PW and thought they nailed it with the Tremor package, only to log on and see people complaining about that too...
