Good point Haven!
I wrote that assuming that you were taking photos strictly for personal use, Facebook, blogging, etc.
Ever photo I've had published was shot with a 5D Mark III. For professional use (weddings, published articles, etc) I use this with a 5D II as a backup. As far as I can...
I put together my thoughts on The Best Camera for Overlanding on our blog. Thoughts? Do you guys stick with one camera for everything or do you use a few different cameras for different jobs?

Pretty cool to have an article about our trip and truck printed in TCT Magazine! Download the PDF version here: http://www.tctmagazine.net/july-2014-volume-7-issue-3/july-2014-volume-7-issue-3
Apparently I haven't been paying attention to the trends in car audio lately. I didn't know you could buy a decent head unit that uses Bluetooth to play music off your iPhone for $110. How do you say no to that? I've almost got all of the creature comforts of a new car now... okay, maybe...
I really wanted to build another 3rd gen, but finding one that was already most of the way there is way less expensive.
I shoot with a Canon 5D II (or III) and a 35mm 1.4. The wide stuff is shot with a 17-40mm f4. I use Lightroom for all post processing... I created a preset I liked from my...
Loubaru, we just camped at the Douglas Fir state campground. Great quiet campground if that's what you're looking for. As for backcountry stuff, we did some exploring, but don't have any GPS coordinates to share unfortunately...
Did a quick run south to Mt. Baker for a couple nights of camping. A good reminder to keep it simple and get out there. We just grabbed a couple of 4" thick foamies from Fred Meyer, our comforter and pillows from home, packed some food, and ditched out.
Thanks Box Rocket! Yeah, it's really hard to look at a 3rd gen without fiberglass fenders now... hence why I have a set on both trucks.

I figured I should start cleaning up the underside of the truck this week. I started with the rear end and springs. It's really dry since there aren't any leaks, but lots of minor surface rust. I put a wire wheel on a variable speed grinder/polisher and used a regular wire brush to take the...

After parking our red pickup in Costa Rica we needed to find another truck as a daily driver while we're in BC. The point of being back here is to work, save some money, and return to Costa Rica before shipping to South America. While we're home we're going to be exploring...
Well, it looks like we have a new rig for some BC and PNW exploring! I was looking for a little project truck, but bought something that was already well put together instead. I think I finally learned my lesson that this saves money in the long run...

I have been seriously lacking in updates here...
What I have been doing is updating our website and blog posts! http://desktoglory.com/
We've only got 4 more days before we store the truck in San Jose and fly home for awhile to work and save some money. We will be going to the NW Overland...
EZE, our friends are driving a 2006 Tacoma Quad Cab with a Four Wheel Camper and are loving it. There are a few photos of it on our blog from when we were in Belize. Lots more power than us for the big hills, more room on the inside, little more reliable due to super low kms. He's also got...
