Beautiful shots/spots. Looks like you are having fun! I recently went back and looked and your designs again. I like the ideas overall. Couple questions popped to mind. 1) do you think if I copied your plan but put a ~30' deep full wall garage on the back end of your plan for packing...
@GrizzlyYJ . You're right I should have been more specific on our mission profile. 2 adults, no dog. Long walks in the forest... We do plan to use it for 6-8 weeks at a time as much away from people as possible. Around here in the BC West Coast that means old logging roads or mining access...
I guess the general RV industry consolidation movement is coming to the Overlander segment. Sorta makes sense since the big boys (Winnie, Thor, REV) are starting to figure out this space and it won't be long before they have more models to offer. Already the supplier options are consolidating...
This is a semi local (to me) RV rental/manufacturer company that has a "overlander" option. Not Earthcruiser like, more like a slide in but hey, it's North America based and a 4x4.

exactly, we've had to unhook 1x in our current class A - gas station. :( but I really like the idea of scouting out the road ahead, especially curves or bridges. Get the wife to drive the Jeep ahead of me and we have the EarTec two way headphones (otherwise known as marriage savers :) ) so...
I always recommend a permantently installed proportional system such as Air Force. My current TJ has an older system that has been flawless for nearly 10 years.
I realize many of you will think I'm nuts... but since we are looking at a longer rig and my wife will not ride on a motorcycle I wonder if a JKU properly lifted to match the 6x6 might be reasonable? Anyone with a larger overlander tow a TOAD? It doesn't appear so but I might as well ask....
We are planning out a build. Looks like a 6x6 class chassis is likely. But since I'm still researching and questioning things I have a couple basic Q.
EU has a 7.5T weight limit or you are into commercial/restricted territory? Easy to get around or a really bad idea to overshoot 7.5T?
Along...
Please pardon the coming flood of newbie posts. I'm just starting down the design path. I've watched enough YouTube and read enough blogs to excite me. Now it's on to figuring out want vs need. Btw I'm coming out of the power boat and Class A RV world of experience.
So, first question...
Hello and congratulations on your amazing build. We've been RVing for a bunch of years and for retirement started down that 45' coach + toad path. Newell was/is on the list. Your comment about having a Newell and transitioning to this made me think. Ok really I've been thinking for a bit on...
