Ice, Ice, Baby or An OEV Summit On The Road to Fort Smith

Great report you guys! Too bad about the Loppet, I was looking forward to hearing all about it.

    Ridiculous descriptions from sellers

Just noticed this one on FBMPlace....... (good thing there is a picture) Quote - (I kid you not!) - "2011 Ford F-350 · Truck · Driven 123,453 kilometers Ford truck box. Some surface rust. $150"

I suspect "yes" to both questions? Probably a good thing that the video was in a small format.....

Eric-Did you check out the video in my post? The urination data is quite compelling......:D

What would you do? Rear suspension maintenance

On a 3/4 GMC that I used to have with a truck camper, I used the original steel bolt on Supersprings overloads. They were reasonably priced and totally backyard installable. They made a huge difference for my set up, without messing with my OE rear spring set up. They give you an option of...

Removing electric jacks for off road?

I think these campers are a great platform for doing a makeover. They checked most of the boxes for me, especially the fiberglass shell. You are always going to have a few new issues once you start peeling back the skin on any "RV" truck camper originally made on an assembly line. The biggest...

    Best Pee Jars?

I think a lot of men on this thread are ignoring the fact that Urologists world wide are adamant about and united in their recommendations about getting out of your vehicle, standing and completely draining your bladder as a preventative and potentially life extending procedure. There is even...

Removing electric jacks for off road?

I hadn't seen your Kodiak here before, It looks great, Nick. I have found the back jacks especially, can be a real liability when backing up in tight spots, such as 3 (or 6) pointing on logging roads or forestry landings, especially in bad light, when you are tired. I met and chatted with a...

    Maranda cab over camper project

There is a lot of information on this forum regarding builds using these types of shells. I have been pondering one on a V-365 or V-370. If you do a search here using "SpaceKap" you will have a good evenings reading to start out. You really need to think about insulating these guys right at...

    Sealing Marker Lights

I used the same brand as Alloy, slightly different model. The nice thing about these one piece surface mount lights is that you only need a hole big enough for a couple of 16 gauge wires (as well as two #8 screw holes) instead of one that has to be large enough to hold the actual body of the...

    Sealing Marker Lights

I am guessing that the black body is a friction fit and the little yellow flange hooks under the bottom of the grommet. I did some kind of similar a while ago and sealed them with Sikaflex 291. Personally if it was me, I would put a small bead under the flange where the yellow part seats into...

Breathing life into a 30yr old Travelaire

Nice Job Trackhead. I have followed your stuff here for a while. Anyone who owns a hardshell truck camper can imagine how much work this project took. I am really impressed with how all of the XPS walls and cabinetry came out and can see the huge savings in overhead and general weight. Talk...

    Propex 2211 Reset

Same procedure exactly for a 2000. I have a newer one (post 2018). On the wall controller, start on the fan setting and go to "On,Off,On". Works perfectly.

    Paint or other coating options

Surprised you didn't feather the overlaps, especially with such a small height change. You mentioned Total Boat products previously, their two part fairing compound worked extremely well for my project which had way bigger jumps. You still could..............:)

    Paint or other coating options

I don't know, sure doesn't look too bad to me. I am sure a couple of extra coats of your product without attempts to add texture during application, will be the ticket. Nice looking camper!

I have used very similar words around here with somewhat limited success, splotchy might be a good description.....:) I bet another complete coat will really improve things. Cheers and looking forward to the pictures of the final success!
