If it matters, and likely it doesn’t, my buddy has an lx450 with 5.29’s and 35’s. It drives nice, pulls a camper fine. Runs at 3k rpms at 70.

I think part of this is also due to the emissions on new diesels. When DEF was introduced, it seems like the prices of the 7.3's, 5.9's and the like went up substantially. Even the 6.0 fords got a huge bump. I paid $24k for my 2000 7.3 CCSB in 2001... 2001... Between monetary devaluation...

Remember, that 1/2 ton Tundra, according to a number of folks on this site, is built stronger/better than most 3/4 trucks... so if I take their "truths" into account, it's probably like for like. :p

So bottom line... you're right, everyone else is wrong. That's fine... it's a perspective... But are you right? Or are you correct? They are not always the same.
