Congrats. I also have the cabin and love it! I have really taken my time on the build out.
My first order of business was the screen kit which Alu-Cab did not have at the time for the cabin. However, looking at what they are charging for them, there is no way I would do that, so I went...
I too have a Tundra DC and have recently put an Alu Cabin on it. Love the set up. The interior build out has been the most enjoyable for me. Endless options.
My NL runs off my Ecoflow power pack. Usually takes about 20% overnight and then charges easily the next day with 180 w solar panel back to 100%. Great little system.
NL here for me too. Zero complaints and would immediately replace any mass produced standard fridge with mine. More efficient and durable, in my opinion.
I run one in mine. I have a fridge as well. Wiring is nice and clean, easy to use, and easily movable if need be. Solar charges it and I have yet to have issue at all. Love it
To be honest, the electrical system we got quoted (name withheld) is utterly ridiculous. I went a differnt route to use a lithium lower pack and solar charging that is about $5k less than that. Easy, clean, and I love it. To each their own.
I haven’t noticed the third brake light at night. The back cab windows on my truck are tinted so maybe that’s why I haven’t even noticed it?
Also, something I didn’t consider was the rear view mirror. Absolutely useless now, so I may remove it completely.
My electrical is run through an Ecoflow Delta. Similar to Goal Zero with a couple of differences I preferred. I also have 186 watt Sunflare panel to charge as needed. Very clean. Love it!
The 270 looks easy enough to remove when needed. I have the AluCabin on a Tundra. Not sure if the...
Took about 10 minutes of bending the pole by hand a particular way to make it work . It runs from the cleat, up to the left of the chimney pipe and to the grommet on the fly. Easier than I thought it would be.
I have that exact same issue. Getting it fixed tomorrow (Wednesday). Not sure what the fix is, but they said they are aware of the issue and have fixed multiple others.
x2 on Southwest Disk. Love mine! I like the bigger cooking surface, and at least half the cost. That cost also includes an adjustable leg burner as well.
Springbar for me. Set up is no problem and those things are practically bomb proof. Weight is half of what you are considering, and the quality is top notch.
Another vote for the portable power station. Although mine is a different brand, I am using it for my current Alu Cabin build. I have spent weeks out with solar charging it, and it powering all my needs to include my fridge. Less room, more portable than dual battery if/when needed to move...
Same for me, except I run an Ecoflow Delta. Love it. My fridge is a NL 50L. 120w solar keeps the Delta charged and fridge is fine. No issues at all. I have been out for weeks at a time without any problems.
I will be moving it to an Alu Cabin next week with 186 w solar, so I expect the same.
I didn’t notice anybody mention Springbar tents. Amazing tents for car camping. Tons of room, stand up entry, and extreme weather resistance to include wind.
I have had mine up in unbelievably bad weather and they are amazing. The design of the frame is the key. Just another option.
FYI, as was already mentioned, they are heavy. Additionally, Southwest is carbon steel material. Same process of use/clean up. I love using mine. Cook on it, scrape clean and add a little oil to protect/season when done. Extremely easy.
The adjustable burner is awesome too.
You may want to take a look at Southwest Disk. Amazing quality at about half the price. Just another option. I purchased their 18” disk and the adjustable leg burner.
