The bit we are not sure of is how high the speed bump is they put in the way of talking directly to the trucks brain box. It has "the big plug" access port same as big trucks do, it is not the FUSO port that talks to the motor. The SAM system is still intact.
No big deal, we do it all the time with customer trucks.
Shipping to Canada is better they tell me, crossing a land border into the USA with a vehicle is better idea than a sea border. Land Border patrol are used to foreign registered vehicles, sea border patrol no as much.

The Allison is a double over drive - it looks like ( don`t know for sure) the GM brain can be plugged into easily (dont need dealer) - the way the exhaust has been run is soooo much better - fit and finish - i have driven and played with them both, Fuso is better I think...
Just a quick note -
The V8 chassis is made in Portugal, not Kawasaki. They are not the same animal.
Mechanical fabrication and testing is easy enough for us to do, that is not the problem. Simply the rules to meet ALL emission standards ( including electric vehicles) are getting more teeth and...

The biggest legal issue is the EPA change to final drive ratio means the truck is out of compliance as tested by the manufacturer. Brake and lane change testes are simple and cheap compared to dealing with the EPA.
The nuts and bolts are fairly straight forward (Allison have been excellent to deal with as has Chevy and Dana) , it is the legal stuff and warranty that take all the fun out of it.
Chevy commercial V8 ( close spec to what UPS delivery trucks use) too early for any real fuel numbers yet they tell me. In testing they got between 8 - 11 MPG .
Fuso will not build them as 4WD, FG fills that role.

Looks like a FUSO , smells like a FUSO, drives mostly like a FUSO, does not sound like a Fuso, at all.
It has some real advantages over the V8 Isuzu.

Customer sent me the weigh bridge numbers this arvo-
Fully loaded for a 12 month trip including full water and fuel tanks (and what ever is in that storage box on the roof) with driver and passenger the weight cert says total for the truck is ........ 11700 LBS.
With good weight distribution...
