FS: Oasis II RTT and Eezi-Awn Series 1000

I picked up a used Oasis II a year ago and I love it. I have only used it for solo camping, but it is great to get away from the creepy crawlys, and light enough that I can lift it up and remove it by myself. I added a self inflating pad from Costco underneath to help with the cold, which...

To Rover or not to Rover... LR3 purchase consideration...

I just turned 150k on my 2005 LR3, that I bought in January 2005. Land Rovers are a bit like a drug. It takes only a few times in the vehicle and then you are hooked...then it costs money to keep high! All of the previous posts have offered good advice, but if you take your time, and look...

    Cheap handheld HAM

To use the GMRS frequencies, you need to have a radio that is part 95 approved, which the Baufeng is not. They are part 90 approved. So technically even though you can set the frequencies with the radio, it isn't legal under FCC regs. Wouxun makes a part 95 radio, however to use the GMRS...

Suggestions for a Simple LR3/ Discovery 3 setup for Offroading and exploring

The racing jack works in most situations, however I'v used my X-Jack for several years now, and love the versatility. Sounds like the standard lift will work in most of those trails, however if you can afford it, get the II-D Tool available at Atlantic British. Good tire kit (I just bought the...

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Nathan explained it very well, but I thought I would toss in my 2 cents. I originally used the Johnson Rods, and took time at the trail head to swap out the rods to increase the ride height. They work very well, but your ride height is "permanently" changed until you restore the factory rods...

LR3 - why the bad rep?

Ok, have to jump in on this one. I was one of the early owners of the LR3, having bought mine in January, 2005. Now with 145,000 miles, I've experience lots of repairs, etc., without complaint. But I have taken my LR3 to places that most LR3's will never go, having experienced the various...

What is the smallest RTT available today?

The Oasis Tent is still available in France http://trekking.fr/tente-de-toit-4x4/oasis.php but there is no US distributor currently. I have an older version of it and it is light enough to lift by myself to take on and off. The newest generation is available in France according to the company...

As an alternative, or a supplement to the Johnson Rods for the lift, you might look into Gap-Diagnostic II-D Controller, which I have been using on my LR3 for quite some time. It gives full control of the suspension, reads and clears faults, and allows you to see live values, all on the center...

For those still looking for protection, check out Tactical Rovers. They have a pretty full line of accessories for the LR3. And an alternate to the Faultmate is the GAP-Diagnostic II-D EAS controller. Works awesome for adjusting suspension and reading and clearing various faults. Just turned...

    Kodiak 4 Person Deluxe

Wow..old school...reminds me of an old Coleman wall tent I used to have. It was almost 8' at the peak and walls were nearly straight upright. Bottom eventually rotted out but canvas was still good...even in the rain.
