Hi Victorian, I will be using the u-haul box that came on my truck (cut away E-350) for my build and will mount it like you suggested, with the box fastened directly to the cab. Instead of fixed plate at the front of the box, what due you think about using the rubber mounts that Ford recommends...
Since my last post I have received my parts, and they are definitely nice! Now I have a guestion, my parts were supposed to be for the 2008+ front suspension. My truck is the earlier suspension and am updating at the same time as I do the lift. The parts that I received are for the earlier...
I'm definitely following this thread as I'm also building a E-350 cab-chassis with a 176" wheel base, so lots of room for flex. And flex it does. I'm curious what everyone thinks about boxing the frame rails on these.
Hi everyone
I wanted to post a follow-up to my last post. I was actually able to reach Alyssa at Weldtech today. She informed me that my parts were setup to ship today and that they will be picked up tomorrow. Evidently they are burried, and are way behind. I can understand that, but a little...
My problem is that the service was great with Alyssa, calls returned in a timely manner etc, right up till I gave them the final payment. I was informed that my parts would not ship for a week because of getting back ordered leaf springs shipped. I had no problem with this. After two weeks with...
I think that I would stay clear of Weldtech for the foreseeable future as I have purchased one of their kits and have been waiting for three weeks and have not received any notification of shipping, and they have repeatedly blown me off when I call to inquire about the status of my parts. I am...
Thanks for the info. I'm getting ready to rebuild the front suspension on my E-350 box truck using weldtec lift and fox shocks and was wondering if is worth using King shocks instead.
Your truck looks great, what a transformation! Did you get your paint mixed as a semi gloss? Not that I am anywhere near paint on mine yet, but my wife and I are thinking about satin or semi gloss for our truck.
The cut away chassis will not hinder a lift kit. I have a 1994 E-350 U-Haul truck that I will be using Weldtec's lift kit on. They share the same front suspension as a standard van.
Man, I wish that I could order batteries with you and split shipping, but I have other places to spend that money on my truck right now. What brand are they?
My truck has a 7.3 idi motor. I looked a long time to find it, but my truck is also a box truck and I wanted the extra grunt of the diesel. I'm fortunate that this motor seems to run pretty clean.
Thanks for the feedback. I was kind of thinking along those lines myself. I have followed your build from the start and think your rig is pretty cool. I stole your idea with the dodge wheels only I had the fronts widened to 8 inches and the back widened to 7. Thanks for the inspiration!
Now that you've used your truck for a while, I'm wondering how you like the weldtech rear springs on your truck. I am finally able to start work on my truck and next year will be lifting mine and wanted to get your opinion of them.
Well since I was unable to find a new sending unit, I decided to try and clean up the one that I have. A friend told me about a product called Evaporust. It is a rust remover that doesn't harm plastics, so I thought that I would give it a try. I have to say that stuff is the sh_t! Attached are...
