    Let's see Utah

Day 3: This day started before sunrise, in the Colorado River valley, at Catacomb Rocks. In the map below, we were in the bottom left, by the red pin. After a quick, and cold, kettle bell workout, we made some coffee and drove back up Hurrah Pass. The view was the same, but everything...

    Let's see Utah

We quickly began to head down into the Colorado River valley looking for a place to camp. We knew camping was at least 3 miles away, as camping on the way up or down the hill wasn't allowed. As the darkness was closing in, we came across a flat, open campsite and thought about stopping. I...

    Let's see Utah

Next, we drove another 50 miles and exited I-70 in order to take the scenic 128 into Moab. This has to one of the best ways into Moab! Upon arriving in Moab, we were buzzing with excitement at what we just saw. On the recommendation of others, we went straight to lunch at Milt’s...

    Transamerica and such

Thanks for sharing. As you know, I'm leaving to head that way on November 26th, and I need to get one of those candle heaters! Also wondering if I need to purchase traction boards for my trip.

    Yes, indeed.

    Towing a 16ft Airstream with a 4runner? Other alternatives?

Tails of Wanderlust seemed pretty unhappy with how well her 4Runner performed in the hills. I also vote for a half ton for your intended usage.

    The Memorial F150 Craptor.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I meant no rotating it clockwise (right) or counter-clockwise (left). The bottom must be horizontal to the ground.

    The Memorial F150 Craptor.

on the front plate, I think ”upright” covers vertical, and “horizontal” covers orientation left to right. (y) Keep on rocking, the truck is turning out great.

    Subaru Outback Wilderness

If you're going to overland your Subaru, you need Rallitek overload springs (or something similar). I just got done installing them on my 2015 and we're taking a road trip this weekend. I also think the Wilderness needs larger tires, to take back out some of the gearing. This is based on my...

    Our Family Travels and Activities

I'm behind on my travels updates, but here's an update on our Outback. After previously planning to lower my Outback, and installing STI wheels and brakes........well, how's this for a change of direction? After talking to my Pastor, of all people :), I decided to go for more of an off road...

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

After previously planning to lower my Outback, and installing STI wheels and brakes........ Well, how's this for a change of direction? After talking to my Pastor, of all people :), I decided to go for more of an off road build than a handling machine. I went with Rallitek 0.75" overload...

What to know before buying used Subaru Outback?

Nothing. ? I just really don’t like the dash, the 2015 was much improved.

What to know before buying used Subaru Outback?

If you can deal with that interior, it would be a fine car too.

    SOLD: FS: 2015 Outback 3.6R Limited - Central Kentucky - $14k

Yes, it is still available. Sorry for the delayed response, I didn't receive a notification. I just received some Rallitek 0.75”overload springs ($438) for it and was going to leave the car listed until I started turning wrenches on it. The car now has 140k miles on it and I lowered the price...

What to know before buying used Subaru Outback?

2015-16 Outback 3.6R would be my vote. Get one with low miles or make sure it’s been maintained well. Mine has 140k and I’m about to lift it with Rallitek overload springs and Bilstein B6 shocks. Probably the best car I’ve owned. it would have to be pretty cheap for me to buy a 4cyl. Subaru.

Sounds like FORD’s going to offer another engine choice for the Tremor

One thing about the fuel economy of a 3.5TT, under boost….At 15psi, it’s essentially a 7.0L engine. That’s going to make some heat and use some fuel.

    New Bronco

All I can say is that my 3.5TT F150 makes noticeably more torque with premium and I’ve read enough about low speed pre-ignition to stick with it. It gets slightly better fuel economy, the few times I’ve checked, but not nearly enough to pay for the cost differential.
