    WHERES ALAN?

Good to see you're back. So, when's the Portal special edition trax coming? In beige of course

    WHERES ALAN?

Wow, that's a real shame. My first question about this is, what's the difference between the trax he'd promoted/shown off and the super single conversion he previously developed and promoted/discussed? Both are products aimed at a small niche. Does anyone have contact details for him?

    FG84 Camper Build

I was more concerned about the epoxy, I've a fairly large hardwood table to cover & seal. The epoxy turned out fine about 5 hours later, I think with the cold it just took a lot longer to cure/harden and ended up clear after some time in the sun. Need to learn a bit more patience. Fiberglass is...

    FG84 Camper Build

I did a bit of a test run overnight on sealing the timbers with epoxy and added some fibreglass strip in just for foot measure. I realise the cloth is a bit wonky, but more concerned about the milky colouring. I'm using west systems epoxy, 105 resin & 207 hardener using their 3:1 ratio. I did...

    FG84 Camper Build

I found myself thinking about the heating/cooking/hot water again while making the benchtop. I'd been talking with webasto a lot about the gear prior to moving, just restarted again as have some time now. I've got two options given to me. X100 Isotemp Basic 40l Airtop 2000 Thermo top E...

    FGs for sale

A couple of interesting ones I found while browsing the other day Global warrior http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/loganholme/campervan/4x4-global-warrior-motorhome-/1080200980 Styromax box built into a camper...

    FG84 Camper Build

It's been a couple of months since I last did anything to the truck, every weekend since moving has been flat out cleaning up the new place. Between getting the trees back under control, fixing the shed roof, making garden beds, compost bins, general unpacking, it's been a while since have had a...

Sooo.....what are the thoughts on the Phoenix?

I'd thought of using a FWC a few times, prior to getting the XP V1 and changing plans again. Both would make a nice, easy platform to form a camper from. Add either a really large toy/tool/bike garage underneath. Heck of a lot of storage options and layout options around the tray that could be done.

    Converting an NPR to 4x4?

I got the same email, Google doc attached. Figured it was spam or a hack also. Didn't open it

    looking for camper

They're pricey, and there'd be the fun of importing them, but try these websites out. http://www.wedgetailcampers.com.au/ http://www.travelander.com.au/ Would these work?

    FUSO FG Seats?

We plan on putting in a set of modified Recaro's. They won't have a suspension mount, but we figure a comfortable seat that fits us well is better than the Stratos which has the suspension but we dislike. I could live with the standard drivers seat, but no way Heather could live with the bench...

    FG84 Camper Build

Hahaha!!! Yep, I spent close to 2 years thinking about this even before I had the XP fail and decided on the custom build route. And I'd go and change a bunch of things right now if I had the chance to. Hmmm, 100mm. It's an Ikea one we chose as it's nice and light, fairly comfortable, easy to...

    FG84 Camper Build

Thanks Fender, I'm quite happy with how it's turning out and can't wait to start working on it again. Sorting out the new workshed over the coming few weekends. Height inside with the top down you're right in the ballpark (I can't remember exactly ATM, it's around 1600mm). Will have around...

    FS - Kimberley Karavan

Wow, surprised it's still for sale after 1 1/2 years. I've always thought they were a nice/comfortable looking caravan, wanted to mount one onto a Fuso as an easy way to make a motorhome. Good luck with the sale

    removing rear cross member?

Mine doesn't have the rear cross member, looks like it was removed/cut off at some stage during its previous life. Might replace it with something in the future, but that's way down on my list of things to do

Top five priorities in your vehicle

I think for a lot of people, it just isn't a concern. When I think about it, we're only planning on using a container maybe 4 times (Aus - US, Panama canal, South America - Europe, Somewhere - home). Yes, it's cheaper to ship, but can be more expensive to build so may even out. I think you're...

    FG84 Camper Build

Hahaha.... I'm still being convinced on it too. What sounds good via specs and readings doesn't always turn out to be true. In any case, not much we can do with it at this stage, way too much work to remove it. Still, it does mean we'll have a massive amount of counterspace, maybe grow some...

    FG84 Camper Build

It's been a busy month, and though I seem to spend a lot of time with the truck, it doesn't seem like I get very far. Most of it's been bits of detail, gluing stuff together (using Sikaflex 11FC, sofar gone through 8 tubes to date) and sitting in there thinking about my next step. Really need to...

    12V DC fridge

Had a look at some of the interior photos, Norcold looks to be one of them. Check the options list here http://www.earthroamer.com/preownedpdfs/81infoandspecs.pdf Vitrifrigo and Isotherm are worth a look too, used a lot in marine environments. Have the danfoss compressor.

Possible new supplier of fiberglass composite panels to North America

Think it'd be worth offering the service. Would compare it to what Cure Composites and Styromax (and a few others) are doing here in Aus. I doubt I'd have been able to do my build to near the end result in the timeframe without someone else building the shell. Things I'd be looking for in a...
