For sure not waterproof but they aren't designed to be however they are lightweight and tough.

Have an arb 50 qt and a national luna 90 liter twin. Arb's reputation of standing behind their product, especially their fridges, is pretty legendary. National luna is pretty much the same. I've never encountered anyone that's had bad luck with either. Won't own anything else. Fyi, pretty sure...

Have a couple if stansports and a couple of msr. All of it 5+ years old. The black stainless coating outside is decent enough, the non stick for both has been excellent as haved been the handles. Less than $100 into all of them so I'm happy.
