I love Toyotas, never meant to downplay them. I also love Tahoe's back when they looked like a truck, and wondered why they aren't utilized more... But I realize now it's more of an image reason than anything.

@CrazyDrei I live in north central Ky, between Louisville & Lexington. Big South Fork is a gem and my absolute favorite place to go backpacking/camping/whitewater canoeing. All the rage around here is Red River Gorge, but BSF is so much less busy. My happy place. Yet to go offroading there, but...
At one point they specifically start talking about the 200 series land cruiser, which I'm pretty sure is what they were referring to as "cheap", because they mentioned how they are marked up in Australia and other countries for whatever reason. At least that's what it sounded like to me.

I live in Kentucky, I know a thing or two about rednecks, and you're exactly right.
Also, I've always thought excursions were pretty sexy but that might just be me...
And yeah I think at the end of the day it comes out to who can have the most shiny toys with all the right "gear" on it. I for...

@Grassland @phsycle
Thank you, helpful answers, and both make a lot of sense.

My question is why is one a fiddle and another a violin. I get that's how people see it, just wondering the difference.

Okay,
I know this may come off as a very ignorant question (which is reasonable, considering I am mostly ignorant about the subject) but I have always wondered why Forerunners (& Tacomas)/FJ's/Landcruisers have such huge aftermarket support while domestic full size SUV's like the...
You and me both. My wife is tired of hearing me complain about it, but the second they forecast a possible DUSTING of snow flurries, they counteract it with 3" of salt layer on the roads. Terrible for the environment. Terrible for infrastructure. Terrible for vehicles. It has to cause more...
1st Gen Sequoia definitely doesn't beat interior of a Tahoe or Yukon, I love Sequoia's but the interior layout on gen 1 is much less appealing IMO then the gmt800 vehicles. Neither are good, basically all plastic, but the simplicity and ergonomics of Tahoe and Yukon SUVs are a win to me. Layout...
