the very beginning of a Tacoma Build

Some great advice so far. I agree with almost all of it: (to me!) 1. A trailer is a pain full time towing/parking/etc. If I were to do teh trailer, I would do a teardrop. Easy to hop in and sleep, can even urban stealth if needed 2. I love my Flippac, but it would be a pain to put away wet for...

    Cassette toilets and trailer builds...

I have the Tetford model like this. Tank removes separately for easy dumping, holds plenty for my family of 3 - but I use the woods or an old Nalgene for my quick #1 relief. Only concern I had was if the pump seals would freeze in cold - never has, but I store it in the basement in winter and...

    JKUR or Tacoma

Jeep will be slightly better off road, but I think with kids and plans for long interstate drives, I would get the Tacoma. Mine goes everywhere I have wanted and the space to pack the gear for my hobbies and my wife and daughter's stuff from Florida to Nova Scotia and everywhere in between. Good...

Custom adventure trailer stolen in Billings, MT

I saw that - and that someone set up a go fund me page to help them continue their trip - on the axle design, one thought is to use standard axle parts, so any break down can be fixed anywhere and not have to order in parts... kind of the Chevy motor debate on engine swaps for US travel. I...

    1976 chevy chalet - $7800

I always wait for 77blazerchalet to come in and fill in the gaps - I thought several of the things you pointed out were not correct too- like "top collector items" Still a cool concept!

    My new 02 double cab/intro

https://jaycapers.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/031717pod.jpg My Land Cruiser blew it's head gasket and will be down a while, so I took the nearly new 285 tires off and put on the Tacoma, the LC backspacing allows them to clear the upper control arm, now just need to cut fender inner and bend...

Pongo, The story of our 2016 Tacoma

That is a great picture with the river blur! As you know I am a traditionalist and liked the ARB round lights you had, but the light bar looks good and I am sure out performs the other lights! Did you take the solar panel off the hood? If not that thing blends in great!

    Roof Rack Help?

What I have is this in gray, I did not get a stretch kit. So my hope is to make something to replace it. I really like the idea of using bars and bungee the chairs to them http://ep.yimg.com/ay/orsracksdirect/yakima-q-stretch-kit-19.png I don't want to cut down my rack because when I take the...

    Roof Rack Help?

No bars - the second load bar requires something to hold it - no feet to lock it down.

    Roof Rack Help?

I think I get too much movement. I put a T bar on the front bumper and carried a surf board on the T bar and the one load bar on the roof, it came loose every 50 miles - almost made me want to throw the surfboard into the weeds along the road!

    Roof Rack Help?

The problem with ANYTHING on the FP roof is weight and increasing the chance of breaking the torsion bar!
