    93 E250 Sportsmobile build/4x4

The Snap On unit I used would let you monitor the engine while driving it. I my case it was a bad O² sensor. That would jump out with an obd2 tester today, but not so easy in obd1 days.

    3way portable fridge

I first saw these portable propane 3 way chest freezers when I worked in the bush in the 1980s. I bought my first used Unique freezer in 2011. It was already 10 years old. It was built in South Africa. They used butane fired refrigeration in remote areas for years. Obviously solar has changed...

Using Standard RV Door In Composite Camper?

I bought a used door at an RV wrecker for my NON composite walled box. $100. It's lined with white styrofoam and has a small window and comes with an integral screen door. Rubber perimeter seal. Handle and keyed deadbolt. How air tight do you need it to be? Any door is going to leak. I ask...

    93 E250 Sportsmobile build/4x4

I put an obd1 motor into a 1984. A buddy had a SnapOn tester that could read the codes off the computer. I remember pricing it out on ebay. Seemed cheap enough to consider buying one if I couldn't borrow it.

Do people really take their off-road teardrops through gnarly trails?

The Aussies drag their trailers everywhere across all kinds of terrain and not just tear drop sized units. https://mr4x4.com.au/the-ultimate-off-road-hitch-guide-everything-you-ever-wanted-to-know/ Shows the limitations of ball hitches and their swivel alternatives.

    3way portable fridge

I have used these 3 way chest freezers for years. Bought used until I found too great a price on a new one. Set on low they will chill beers in the upper basket and keep food frozen in the bottom. Solar is great, but I had all the infrastructure for propane kicking around for free so I went...

    1993 HiAce Firetruck Build Thread

I have explained builds like this to non technical people. The builders have a large and varied skill set to draw from. It is the first time we have put those skills to use on this type of project. There will be a thinking phase, a design phase, an engineering phase, and a construction phase...

    Fuel tank check valve

Fill it full of water and drop it in the chest freezer. That's what we used to do with rare beer cans we were collecting. Might take a few cycles.

    How to camp with dogs!

I slip a rope through Mugs' leash, clip it to his harness, and tie the ends across the site so it acts like a runner. He can move around, but can't get off site.
