    Clearing Obstacles

Oh man.. That looks nasty!!! Thanks for posting a pic... That is a trouble spot and removing the tree would definitely help minimize further damage to the area. Looks like you were stuck pretty good, how deep was it to the bottom of that pit?

    Maintennce on a Frontier

Front diff fluid (4x4), coolant flush, power steering flush, and an in-cabin air filter. That is what I would do... :sombrero:

    Clearing Obstacles

HAHAHA!! There is nothing wrong with trying to stay clean :sombrero: From your first post it sounds like the type of situation that I would have removed the tree also. The last thing you want is yet another bypass created in that area.

    Clearing Obstacles

Good post! I think removal of the tree depends on a number of factors. I am not a big fan of bypasses either and think we should all try to stay on the main trail as much as physically possible. First off, if the tree or any other obstacle creates a situation in which the safety of those on...

    07 Frontier Broken CV Shaft

They run about $500 after tax. It was all covered under warranty though, so the only money out of my pocket was dinner and drinks for everyone that helped out! :sombrero: Yea no joke! I was just getting ready to change all of them out. The rear diff was changed about 6K ago. Regardless of...

    07 Frontier Broken CV Shaft

During the recent Sedonafest event in Sedona AZ I ended up breaking the driver's side CV shaft in my 2007 Nissan Frontier while on the Broken Arrow trail. The shaft broke while I was attempting to go up the staircase which I had made up the previous day with no problem. The manner in which the...

Weezerbot, get your own stinkin' truck! My 1998 4Runner SR5

Great post robert! I think that is part of the problem though... Many of the older vehicles deploy the passenger side air bag regardless if someone is sitting there or not. Upon deployment, the air bad would turn the laptop into a deadly projectile, and who knows what direction it is going to...

Thinking about going with a ute bed: 06 frontier

I think it is a pretty cool idea... You could really do lots with this. Have you thought of doing a conversion offered by Adventure Trailers? http://www.adventuretrailers.com/trucks.html The AT stuff is just awesome... Toss a RTT up on top and you have one hell of a camping machine. If I had...

Oh no!!! The Nissan strap photo! HAHAHA! :sombrero: You are making some serious progress on this rig! Very cool! You add something (or multiple things) every time I check this out. Keep it up, the truck is looking awesome and seems to be very functional.

Xterra Gen I and II questions

When I had a GenI 2003 Frontier CC 4x4 auto with the 3.3, I was never able to get more than 20-21MPG on the hwy, before the mods. After the mods I was getting about 19MPG. In town was always around 15 MPG for me.

    Green green green Colorado!

Yea you guys are getting some crazy weather out there right now. I had heard that you are already above the normal number of severe thunderstorm and tornado watches/warnings for this time of year.

Xterra Gen I and II questions

You also have to take into account the change in aerodynamics. The truck will be slightly higher off the ground allowing more air to pass under the truck creating turbulence. Usually to fit larger tires without rubbing you need a lift which again adds to this problem. Most of the time, larger...

Xterra Gen I and II questions

In theory you are correct, if you were to take MPG measurements during a highway trip that does not include getting up to speed, and only while at constant speed, assuming your odometer is correct, or you are using another method of measurement, you will increase your MPG. In reality though, it...
