    WHY I HATE EZ-Lube Hubs

I edited my first post to read this now: The only way grease gets in the brake assembly is if a seal goes bad, or if while putting in more grease, the grease takes the path of least resistance and goes past the seal instead of making it's way forward, through the outer bearing. The latter...

    Best Wife in the World!!!

Incandescent lights are banned from my trailers too..... One of my trailers is up on blocks, immobile, but that didn't stop me from changing all the lights to LED. Looks like you got a really nice trailer, which will mean no more attempts by Lexi to join you in bed. I like the wide track...

    WHY I HATE EZ-Lube Hubs

Roger that. In some cases, it makes people lazy... and there isn't a lot of "education" on the part of the dealers that sell trailers which have these hubs.

    WHY I HATE EZ-Lube Hubs

Pretty much, yes. LOL. Here's my educated opinion: Once a wheel bearing is packed (or repacked), then it's fine to pump some grease in it while spinning the wheel, once the service job is complete. Down the road (pun intended, LOL), there's really no need to continually pump grease in every...

    WHY I HATE EZ-Lube Hubs

A short time ago I purchased an 8.5' x 20' Haulmark Race trailer, to haul my Jeep in and become my roadtrip / show trailer. The first project upon getting it home was to inspect the brakes and bearings. I dismantled the brakes on the driver's side last week. On Sunday I started looking at the...

    LEDs

I have an addiction to leds... all my trailers are led only. Incandescents are banned from my fleet. Like mentioned above, a trailer is simply an addition in load to the tow rig- how big or small the electrical load is does not matter. This weekend I completed the led upgrade to my show...

    Jeff's Cargo Conversion

OH NO....I shouldn't have read this thread. Lol. I have a 5x8 version of this trailer, no side door though. I could easily add some do-dads to make it a camping rig. Looks like you converted to led tail lights. I did the same on mine. I converted all my lights to clear lens style.

    My cargo trailer mods.

No plans yet for any elaborate interior goodies. For the time being it will be just a cargo hauler. Come late spring, early summer I may do some camping with it, but I'll just throw an air mattress on the floor.

Wheel adapters on Chaser Trailer - Safe?

Shouldn't be a problem. I've seen other Chasers with wheel spacers. I almost bought a used Chaser, and it was running spacers. I'd get as thin of a spacer as is available... in fact, call up Adventure Trailers and get their recommendation on brand of spacer to use. Maybe they even have some.

    My cargo trailer mods.

I'm not sure what the stuff on the roof is. My other cargo trailer has the same stuff. If I remember, i will ask what it is next time I am at the dealer.

I'm down to three again - I sold my flatbed Jeep hauler last week.

    Brake Controllers

Yes, you will have to add wire. The pigtail harness on brake controller I've seen is at most, 2' long. As far as running wires to the truck plug, only one wire from the brake controller is required - the brake signal wire. THe rest of the wires connect to the truck's systems (power, ground...

    Brake Controllers

The Prodigy is nice as well. I have it. http://www.etrailer.com/Brake-Controller/Tekonsha/90885.html Whatever you do, DON'T get a "time based" controller. Get one that is intertia/accelerometer based. I believe everything Tekonsha makes is intertia/accelerometer based. I won't even buy a...

    My cargo trailer mods.

Wednesday morning I put on another coat of paint before going to work in the morning. Wednesday after work I put on a third coat. The 3rd coat of wall paint dried fairly fast, so I reinstalled all the screws and reattached the L track. Late in the evening I decided to go buy some more paint...

    My cargo trailer mods.

Tuesday night I started painting the interior. First coat is done. I set a box fan in the trailer to circulate the air around to promote faster drying.

    My cargo trailer mods.

I wanted my overhead interior lights and exterior cargo loading lights controlled by a wall mounted switch. I ordered these parts, which includes a switch assembly, a bezel and a spacer to give more clearance for wires behind the switches by spacing the switch assembly further out from the...

    My cargo trailer mods.

I didn't take a measurement, but I will be going back to the dealer this weekend and can take my original hub and place it next to a drum, and measure the different in "wheel mounting surface" (also commonly called WMS)

    My cargo trailer mods.

I installed some L track along the wall: A short piece went along the front wall to strap down 4 pieces of grid-wall: Next came a long piece against the wall. I also moved a truck bed mat to this trailer that I trimmed down several years ago for use in my little aluminum trailer.
