Thanks, greatly appreciated. I've heard the term "top loader" before but did not know what it referred to. Shows how little I know about trucks.
Thanks for the info.
Great photo. Really gives some perspective on what a conversion looks like.
Should I take it that since I have yet to see...
These look like great options for converting to portals.
I was wondering if anyone had any kits for the type of rotated diff drivetrain like these chassis use.
I don't know enough to know if that design is better or worse than portals, it's just a curiosity question.
We were out on some rural roads yesterday and came through some areas where corn was the primary crop.
Along the way we saw 15 more of these mystery vehicles.
I was able to spend some with the operator of one, but language challenges prevented me from learning who built the chassis...
Thanks for answering that mystery for me.
I was fascinated by that design.
Is there a particular reason that approach is not more widespread?
It looks like that design yields advantages in ground clearance and breakover angle.
Disadvantages:
Complexity
Cost

I didn't delve too much into the electrical system, but I'd guess it's a shift indicator to signal the move from Thai tea to Thai coffee. ;)
The mechanic and his assistant were re-wiring all the lights on the rear of the chassis. I got the feeling that it was a new purchase by the owner and...
(mods - I didn't know where to post this. It's a mog-type thing, but didn't really fit in the mog forum. It's powered by a Hino motor, which is probably is the closest to the Fuso section, but it's not a Fuso or an Isuzu. Not knowing where to put it, I put the post here. Move at will to where...

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your kind words. They are greatly appreciated.
Yes, the truck did sell. We are finishing the final details with the buyer now.
I apologize for the delay in this transaction. We had something happen that held things up for a week, but once past that were...
Steph says hi and sends her absolute best your way to you and the family. She's also talking some type of trash regarding Oz breaks versus her SoCal breaks, but I don't understand that surfer girl talk... 8^)
I will keep my eyes open for Lance.
Will this Allison conversion for FG84s be...
Here's what we used to protect ours. It provided protection for many miles, including weeks and weeks and weeks of gravel roads.
However, as noted, it will not provide protection from a human wielding a screwdriver... ;)
We may return to four wheels someday, if we got too old to ride.
Of course, that would fly in the face of the universal truth that you don't get too old to ride, you get too old because you stop riding. :roost:
I suffer from no such delusions.
I'm married with kids and grandkids. :)
