    Vanity callsign application help needed.

Hi All, I want to get a vanity callsign, and I have a procedural question. When I start my online application, the first step is: Applicant Questions Fee Status Is the applicant exempt from FCC application fees? Is the applicant exempt from FCC regulatory fees? I think from my research that...

Video of Land Rovers on the Mojave Road

My friend Mo recently acquired a GoPro camera and traveled the Mojave Road. His first effort at editing is pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH6lwkNODOI&feature=youtu.be He has a beautiful Series II 109.

    2006 Chevy Silverado to 100k

We bought a brand new Chevy Silverado Z71 with the HO 5.3 aluminum block engine in July of 2006, and were a little upset when a couple of months later the warranty went from 36,000 miles to 100,000. It just hit 100,000, and I am happy to report that the extra warranty would have done me no...

Expedition Portal: The Land Rover 109 IIA Build

Congrats on the purchase! Driving a SIIA like you intend to will make you a better driver in so many ways. It makes you patient, yours ears become attuned to the slightest change in noise, you learn to stop far enough back from traffic lights so you can see them, shifting gears becomes much...

Nice report. We drove the other direction through Pioneer Pass, but that was long before the snow!

Rover Classic, which year or model is best?

I agree with dcwhybrew. Far more important than the year is the condition. We have owned 3 and the best one was the one we bought from a guy in Scottsdale who took it to the dealer for every tiny thing. It had 300,000 miles on it when we sold it.

1967 NADA 109 cant make up my mind on this 2.6 power plant

It is real nice. I got to see it in person before he shipped out and it looks even better than the photos show. My Dormobile friend living is CH thinks everything automotive there is made by magical forest elves and priced accordingly.

1967 NADA 109 cant make up my mind on this 2.6 power plant

Sorry, I have been too busy between work and exploring to get on here in a while, but I can answer this question. In the last couple of years we have done several 1000 to 2000 mile trips and had zero engine issues. Death Valley, up Hwy 1 in Cali, all around some really remote parts of the Four...

1967 NADA 109 cant make up my mind on this 2.6 power plant

Is what you have actually running? If so, I would keep it there. Otherwise, the easiest thing to do would be put the Chevy 250 in, since you already have it. My plans, if my Rover 6 ever fails, is to put a 250 in, but the Rover 6 is serving me well for now. I have the Euro 6 in mine, which...

    Considering a series 1

Congrats on the purchase. I would love to take a drive in a Series I someday. We recently met a lady who liked our Dormobile and went on and on about how much she loved her Series I. About 10 minutes into the conversation we figured out she owned a Series I Discovery. Sigh.

    Chevy/GMC wheel choice question

I happened to mention this to my Dad, and he told me he had a set of aluminum 16" Chevy truck wheels in his storage shed. The lug holes are 6 on a 5.5" bolt circle. So, he took some measurements of the inside of the rim, I will take some of my brake calipers, and if it looks good he will ship...

    Chevy/GMC wheel choice question

This thread is timely because I was looking at doing the exact same thing. We have an 06 Silverado 4wd Z71 with the 265/70R17s on it. The OE Goodyears had belt separation issues after about 20,000 miles so I got a big credit on them and put BFG ATs of the same size on. Now that those are worn...

    Used Zodi Shower Heater

I put the heater part of our Zodi shower on ebay starting at $5 + shipping. I was going to buy a new pump for it but never got around to it. The heater was awesome, the Zodi supplied pump less so. Item 280704784395, located in Tucson, AZ.

Are we fools or optimists? We just bought another Rover.

Yes, it was Granville's. Fixing the AC is high on the list. Granville spent a lot of money trying to get it fixed, to no avail. I have a complete RRC AC system on my shelf so I will replace the whole thing if I have to, although I may put in a parallel flow condenser.
