    Tiger (GT and XL) Hunting

I guess I need to clarify this: An awd is easy to lift and to swap a 4wd 2 spd Tcase into. A 2wd is different; it has a different sub frame. No body lift, a coil spring lift instead. The reviews so far seems to be a pretty harsh ride and not all plush like the lifted awd, after a fight of a...

Nice trailer build for towing behind a van - well maybe.

All too true.:Wow1: In which case, for me anyway, there is no good price.:ylsmoke:

    Tiger (GT and XL) Hunting

I don't see what the differences could be. Hey Troy, I hear there's pretty good riding around Bend? Our paddling friend's live there and are former cross country ski Olympians, but I've never rode an enduro there before and was thinking about going to an event in Sept. Probably won't because...

    Tiger (GT and XL) Hunting

I'm out. This 2010 version of my bike is not supposed to be available in the U.S., but somehow I may have found one still in the crate.

    Budget Camper

That is key, and your answer to this quesstion could still have been more specific if you want accurate advice. While the stock Astro suprises people with it's abilities, it is not a stock xj, Disco, or Extera. Even with the work I've done to mine, I'm not taking it down the Rubicon. I stick...

    Budget Camper

I chose the Astro van because I wanted a duffle bag on wheels that i can also take on overlanding trips. We wanted a shuttle rig/base camp for biking/paddling/enduro riding trips. We've got some good 4x4 mountain trails in Washington so I modified mine slightly (relatively cheap and painless)...

    Tiger (GT and XL) Hunting

The ad has been deleted already and he never emailed me back. Either sold, or he got 10 responses right away so it will reappear in 2 weeks for $5500.

How does one get into white water kayaking?

Responding to the 2nd Q first, you can't go wrong with Otter Bar or Nantahala Outdoor Center. two common ways are: 1) you have a lot of friends that paddle ww and you have plenty of time to devote to it (2-3x wk) for the first season. It's a skill intensive sport that needs numerous sessions...

Best way to get Mom, Dad and Kiddo out on the water?

I must say I'm not a fan of SOT's either. .. I've never seen an R5 outside of Canada. It is a good all round boat. Similar to a Prijon Yukon. The Prijon plastic 17' tandem can shoot the raft line on class III rapids, it's just not gonna go eddy hopping down a class IV. Don't make me get my...

    Herbie's Chevy Astrolander/ZMB Build Thread

Looking good. I'll study it some more and reply more later when I have time. (I usually surf with one hand while feeding the baby with the other so I'm unable to respond:sombrero:)

    Bumper mods

The s-10 axle is 60" vs the Astro at 66"(or was it 68"?) so I don't think the front bumper will work. Can you confirm that Loops? S-10's are really only good for Transfer cases and 4x4 emblems.

    Bumper mods

Looks great, Meeks. Very similar to what I have in mind. I want to do the Roo bar attatched to the frame with recovery points.

Best way to get Mom, Dad and Kiddo out on the water?

The Mad River Explorer (16' with moderate rocker) is the XR650L of the paddling world. It can do it all. The XR650 can do tight single track, but I sure do't want to do it. I can munch freeway miles along side a GS1200 or even a Goldwing...but I sure don't want to do it. It can do the...

Best way to get Mom, Dad and Kiddo out on the water?

At the risk of getting flamed by some of the old timers, here's the deal: That is a lot to ask from one boat. For a boat to have an adequate amount of rocker to the hull to handle class III, it will be brutal when attempting to paddle any real distance on flat water. And vice versa. It's...

    Our "new" Tiger...

If there were still a construction industry in this region, that beautiful Tiger would be in my possession with a 4 " lift kit and a small block chevy motor both on order. Looking forward to your next build.:ylsmoke:
