I've seen some of the torsion bar alternatives posted here. I'm a new FP owner (new owner, old F-P) with a broken bar and missing the handle, and the cost of the parts is high and lead time long. I removed the bar and installed bolts and bushings as pivots, but haven't yet made a handle/support...
