That's a pretty good looking pup too. 7 months...so you've only got a couple more years 'til he's calmed down a bit, lol.
I'll bet the cat winds up ruling the house.
Sounds like it's been working for quite a while. Have you got any detail pics of the bag setup? What compressor are you using? What bags did you go with? How much total lift can you get off of the bump stops?
It sounds very much like a system a friend of mine did on his landcruiser.
Thanks ebbs, tires are 315-75r/16's. Normally they're running at full rated capacity, it's pretty easy to overload them by packing too much. Which is one of the reasons for the trailer.
No derailment whatsoever, Ridgebacks can join into this thread whenever they like, lol.
Top of Palomar...
Yep, have the Haflinger. In the middle of everything tomorrow I need to start fabbing up a rear hoop for the Haffy bed. Calico MogFest is coming up fast....
It's something I've thought about for a while now. Firestone bags are readily available, just takes some work and experimentation. Heck, a friend of mine has a Landcruiser wagon on bags, prior to that he had his FJ40 bagged.
Looks like there's going to be a ton of leverage working on those lower spring mounts. Did you think about doing a dead center mount on top of the axle? I think it would be much more robust, as far as the upper mounts you'd have to raise them, but you're doing a custom camper, so you can design...
Working on the next step...M116A3 trailer being modified. Will carry a Puch Haflinger and extra supplies, with the goal of taking some of the weight off the rear truck axle and transferring it to the trailer. So tool boxes and various racks will also be installed. But for now, fenders have been...
Good question, I think the 11.00x16's will be way too tall - aren't they 39" or so? I used to run them on the WC's I had, but that was a long long time ago, and I can't recall now. I think the load ratings for them should be close to what's needed. Availability is another issue I guess. At...
I have to say that the EC 16's I'm running have been working fine. I'm running internal balancing beads instead of external weights, tires on the rear are at max weight for their rating at all times, but it's an FX and I'm notorious for taking along the kitchen sink (too many tools). No issues...
