I had a similar problem with my G and the wiper shafts were the culprit..but it was also a more involved fix because the screw wouldn't come off and I had to go behind the dash

Yeah that's too long a commute for a car let alone P38. When I had my 100+ mile commute (short 1 year stint at work) I chose to ride my motorcycle everyday..
P38s are getting to be better investments..do it :)

Amazing work on the P38. I have an undying love for these RRs. Last of the truly dual purpose RRs..live axles but great daily driveability. I have had two and my current P38 is a DD

Yes I did. They seem to be suited for petrol only versions and ones which are MBUSA ones. Will suit your 2013 very well I think..but no first hand experience

Yep. Or you buy a 1979..avoid the CA emissions crap and put a STT turbo/ do an OM606 swap (hard to do properly).
Also if you are not set on diesel then look for Europa Gs. They are generally CA legal because many of them were federalized for 50 states. I looked long and hard at them..the V8...
Yes they install in addition to your existing tank. You get about 66-75% extra.
Try copying the text into Google translate..that's how I did it

250gd..I can't speak to it because I haven't driven one. But I am guessing that's the wolf model. It's a fair bit lighter than the 5 door LWB. While the OM606 develops 175hp and 330Nm of twist..the 250GD (if my research memory serves me right) produces 90 odd hp and I think 140Nm of twist. It...
That's about the right number. Unfortunately. If you are going to do the CA bar exercise I recommend the 2-3 year only 300TD version. The OM606a engine with the 722 gearbox. It's a great daily driver that can transform to an overlander when you need it. That's how I am building mine out

Look at 4x4camp.eu. the site is a bit hard to read but the tank design is pretty robust and capacious. It's a bit pricey and international shipping isn't cheap. I am planning to get one as well and if you want one too we go in as a group buy to reduce shipping costs.

Smog check requirements are a bi-annual thing and yes if you Diesel vehicle is 1997 or earlier you don't need it.
But registering the diesel car in CA another thing. It has to comply to the following stipulations
1. It should be in the approved list of vehicles which can be imported in the US...
That seems like it's a RR P38 series. Please do your research on these models. They have their fair share of issues but if you are handy with a wrench it's pretty easy to maintain. I have one from 2001 and I adore it. It generally was a good car with 110K miles on it when I got. Now it has 145K...
Very nice work. I would love to learn how you did the wheels yourself. That's on the agenda for me G wagon.
It's also interesting to see the look of a rectangular section roof rack on a Defender. I have always been partial to the tubular steel racks.

So I don't know how much you are getting this truck for but ask for detailed records of what has been done to it if possible. I change oil every 3-4K miles and do a basic check up. They are notoriously sensitive to regular service and oil changes. To give you a sense for pricing I bought my...
Aah the P38..it has always been the unloved child of the RR generations. I like them though. To me they are a good balance of having enough creature comforts and at the same time having that classic lines. I am in my second one. The first one I had was a Holland and Holland and in the three...
I went down a similar but not exactly the same route.

Gosh. That's a brilliantly clean build. I am still waiting on my VW settlement money. If I had it I'd be really tempted. Good luck with the sale!!
