    age without training wheels

Thats an excllent point: don't get a bike they can "grow into" for the training bike. Learn to ride on something a little smaller and thus easier to handle.

    age without training wheels

First thought is yes. Of course it depends on the kids. We were sitting aorund the BBQ celebrating my 7yr old nephew's first hat trick one day and all the sudden his 4 yr old sister came ripping around the corner on two wheels. She didn't like him getting all the attention so she herself...

    VW Westfalia advice.

Don't get me wrong; I really came close to going the VW route. But personally, at the end of the day, I can't see devoting that much attention to maintaining/repairing a man made object; especially one designed and built by someone else. If I have 2 hrs to spend, I want to be on the water or on...

The Grand Adventure - Back to Africa!!!

I'll never again complain about the Washington State Ferry system. On second thought, I'd rather be waiting in this ferry line, right behind you. Excellent report. Be safe.

    Hitch Motorcycle Carrier on Sportsmobile

Wow Sean. First of all, thanks for taking the time to set up and photograph and document everything for us. Its very appreciated and really helpful. 2nd of all, what a great design. I like everything about it. The front tire holder, the anti flex piece, and especially the foot peg bolt down...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Bought slightly used 245/75 16 MTs off an Expo member. Barrowed a bike tray from a buddy for the weekend. The van hauls my 250lb Gas Gas 450 dual sport (read "plated") with no sweat. Am looking into better, more secure bike trays for light off roading to a basecamp type scenarios.

    VW Westfalia advice.

When I was strongly considering a Syncro Westfalia, my mechanic brother in law referred to them as Syncro Willfailyas. (he claims it was an original spontaneous term that he's not heard before, just inspired at that moment of reflection upon his Australia trip in a Kombi) Astro vans are common...

    Hitch Motorcycle Carrier on Sportsmobile

I like the idea of the peg system, but haven't actually seen one. You've probably already seen this thread. 5 yrs worth of hitch carrier posts. Gotta be something usable in there. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13022

FS - Citizen ECO Drive Skyhawk Atomic Watch

Something tells me he may never have had the watch to begin with...yet he still may have sold it five or ten times over the internet. Did you ever see pics of his personal watch so you could see the scratches and general condition of it, or were all the pics taken from internet brochures?

    Hitch Motorcycle Carrier on Sportsmobile

Hey, CC, did the moto tote arrive yet? $399 looks like a deal. You can easily spend 3 bills on material alone for a homebrew that may or may not be the answer. And then try to fab a front wheel holder that I want, and the 'tote already has one. One positive review from you could push me over...

    Dual Sport Shopping F800 GS / F650GS / other?

Here, here. I always try to suggest to buy something used that is very sellable. That way, you can continure shopping while you are riding and evolvong into the rider you are going to be. If you do it right, you can buy low and sell high and not lose $ instead of buying new, spending on...

Building a 2008 Kawasaki KLR650 for Overland Travel!

Your 2 cents is worth about .55 US. You're right, its all about priorities. My Dual Sport is made for about 95% dirt+5% street. Someday I want to get a big bike too so i can do the Big Trailie Ride. I would be interested to hear how the two models (new KLR vs old KLR) compare off road. That...

    Cash for Clunkers

There is a good reason why most people that have clunkers actually have them in the first place: they cannot afford car payments of any worth while amount. By taking advantage of this government transfer payment subsidy program, they are going to have more debt and higher monthly financial...

    $60,000 to spend?

I was hoping to be able to afford an All Rad someday. I figured that by the time (if ever) I outgrow the Astro's space, they would actually be available in N.A. Personally, its the only Sprinter I like.

    Selling diesel Quigley

The van needs to be listed on a KTM website with that color combo. All its missing is KTM decals and a trailer of KTM bikes hitched on back. Killer looking van.

    4Runner Dilemma

My brother in law was a delaership mechanic for 15 years. He'd get dibbs on these low ball trade-ins, put a minimal amount of fixins to it, then sell them for a lot more. I sold Dodge trucks at a dealership for 2 months. I forgot people that scummy existed. They will say anything at all...
