Went down and checked out the xl today. If I wanted to go with a blue color and spend an extra 7k I could get a short bed model with the 7.3 but I’m a white truck kind of guy so unless I see something else available I think this will turn into some sort of info thread about this type of vehicle!
Ableguy - Got it. Makes sense. I’m in Boise where I see so many long beds cruising around it’s making me feel better. Plus anywhere I go it’s usually fairly open and if not then I have the handicapped placard vip parking spot just in case ha ha ha.
Update!!
F250 is sold so I either take the long bed or order something I want.
the F350 did have some sort of transportation damage and I’m secretly hoping it’s something cosmetic that I can just tell them to knock the price down and I’ll take it ha ha.
Jbaucom - That’s a good point, I don’t usually order as I’m not that picky and can usually find the basics of what I need on the lot. I suppose ordering could be a possibility.
Thank you all so much for the help!
GrindMonkey - Thats kind of what I was thinking, it looks specd out to be a good work/fun truck while the F250 seemed to have most of the bells and whistles but maybe miss out on the items like the alternator and camper package that would open up options...
All powerful, all knowing, blue oval fans of expedition portal!
I have decided to step back up to a super duty platform and have found two ideal candidates and would love y’all’s help deciding. I feel like I can go either way and be happy but which truck will provide more in the long run? I...
I looked at getting one of those tanks but I get tired of filling bottles for welding so I just decided to go with the compressor. It also didn't help that I wasn't sure where I'd go and only found a couple places near me that would do it.
So I had some fun yesterday hooking up my trailer and then realized I can’t lower my tailgate all the way down because of the trailer jack. Yay!
Which basically means running that 12v to the rear for the fridge was pointless because I can’t access it with the trailer attached. Not a big deal...
Today I had the chance to run the Amazon 12 volt add on I got. It barely reached, like when I say barely, I mean barely. I wanted to keep it up high so the power cable wouldn’t be on the floor and noticed that my top had a gap on the side anyway so I just ran it there. I had also read in...
I was just going off what Graingers website says it is. The cheaper one out of all the ones they sell is made by some company called "ability one", id assume if its half the price of the scepter and the rest of them it probably isn't Scepter.
Oh but those arent Scepter. I was hoping I could go get the scepter ones at grainger and tried to find these but then saw they are "ability one". Bummer!
FYI for anyone that wants one still...
Amazon.com: Scepter 05177 Military Water Container - 5 Gallon (20 Litre), AM Green: Automotive
Edit: I understand these are water ones, just found them and thought I would share.
Nice work everyone, I was sure we could figure out different solutions!
I didnt think about the fully boxed frame but I like the solution Boatbuilder79 came up with!
I am kind of confused as to how that actually fits. I will have to pop the hood again and see how that would mount. My battery is almost touching the hood as it is, so if this bracket keeps that one the same and just mounts the one lower than that would be cool.
I was thinking if you just got...
I popped the hood to look but couldn't really tell. I would probably just throw it on the frame rails since there is definitely room down there. Or my other thought is just getting a 4d battery case (with battery inside) and throw a 12 v socket on the top for plugging the fridge into and then...
Ya I was excited to see them already installed as well. I wasn’t sure if they were even on there when I bought it cause they look so clean and not like some sort of aftermarket part, they just hide right into the bumper.
I also found a deal last night, ok maybe not a “deal” but it’s brand new...
