That's my truck. I've been through that.
Also, I love my Ramboxes and my rack and have zero complaints. I can walk completely around my RTT.
You can view my build for all the places a full size truck will fit.
I've been going down a list.
Gold Bar Rim, check, Golden spike, Check, Devils...
So I just picked up a Yaesu ft-8900r and wired up a straight through so I can remote mount the display. Planning on mounting the unit behind the rear seat in my truck so my cable run is as short as possible. Also have an external speaker to wire up too.
So I'm thinking about a Ram Mount...
So we outfitted the truck and did our first camping trip in years! Wife and I haven't been camping since 2013. We don't really count living in or traveling in the Airstream as camping.
We had a really great time, but came to a few conclusions moving forward. We want to build a custom rack and...
I found it to be comparable. A good GPS unit is about $150+ which if you cac what you pay between wifi/gps version, you might as well just get the GPS version. Price difference is about what you'd pay buying an external unit. And the internal GPS is really damn spot on.
I'm actually taking the technican on the first Sat of June. And you clearly kept missing my point, that the test questions themselves for an entry level of technician are perhaps outdated. Most this stuff I know. But really, I still believe it's a barrier to younger people who don't care to know...
I'd better see you guys at next years Power Wagons in Moab. https://www.facebook.com/pwinmoab/
Just saying. :p
And I just posted a ton of photos: http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/18794-Lets-see-some-full-size-pictures?p=2305005#post2305005
The REAL REASON to get a POWER WAGON, is the...
Fins and Things is a lot of fun. Very easy to do with the PW. Even Hells Revenge. I did both trails last year as well, stock.
My total list of trails I did stock.
Poison Spider
Wedgy (obstacle)
Hells Revenge
Hells Gate (obstacle)
Tip Over Challenge (obstacle)
Top of the World
Elphant Hill

I'm glad it's so easy for you.
It's out-dated. 200 question pool for 30 question test, with questions like:
This is for a hobby, when electronics were new and people built rigs. Save it for the General.
Rules, Regs, Proper User
Hobby is dying off and seeing limited use becuase...
I studied some for it and got annoyed at the level of electronics questions that I don't really care about. Was using Hamtestonline. Seriously, feel the question pool is heavily dated and not really designed for modern users. GMRS doesn't have that barrier. And I have a busy schedule. And with...
I own a 2015 Ram Power Wagon. The thing to know is the suspension changed completely in 2014, along with the introduction of the 6.4L engine and 4:10 gearing. Prior years had a 5.7L Hemi and 4:56 gearing.
2014+ feature coil spring rear suspension for better ride and use a new articulink (rams...
As to the original topic, even though this is an old old thread, I wanted to comment on this. I have a cheap Boafeng UV5R. And recently lead a group of 22 vehicles for a seven day event in Moab.
We chose to use FSR/GMRS channels becuase many in the group didn't have radio's in their trucks. The...
I just spent 15 days in Moab using Gaia GPS with a 3rd generation iPad Mini with Wifi+LTE and 128gb on a ram mount. I use Gaia GPS and I love this app now. Zero problems with the GPS creating accurate tracks. This has been a fanastic setup. We also use it as our primary media device and just...
