We're a Garmin dealer and IIRC, the Tread is the powersports focused version of the Overlander product.
We didn't look too deeply into it because the powersports space really isn't our realm but that was my understanding of their marketing pitch.
That's all I really need, a backup plan. Some way to communicate with the outside world in the event of a worst case scenario type situation. Thanks for the information, sounds like it would work just fine for me.
Coworker is selling it to me dirt cheap, $50. I would go with a newer device if...
Hi there folks,
Quick question about the original Gen 1 SPOT Satellite Messenger.
I recently made a trip to Southern Utah, to a new destination for us, and we hardly saw a soul out on the trails, or anywhere for that matter. We were deep enough out there that we started thinking about what...
I agree with billiebob, you do not need anything over the top. Invest in some mild bumpers, lighting, a winch and recovery gear and hit the road. The more stock a vehicle is, the more reliable it is (most of the time).

Thanks for the advice!

I’ve replaced the cps sensor once and the original magnet inside the cap was...
SLC XJ owner here, hope to see this thing on the trails.
Thanks for the heat shield/vaporlock inspiration. My 2000 throws misfire codes constantly, definitely has heat soak issues. I'll get this thing running right one day...
Nice work!
How glued to the Alucab tent are you? I am selling an Eezi Awn Stealth. I understand they are significantly different, just thought I'd throw this out there before I list it.
I've had three roof top tents, slept in wet, cold, snowy and hot weather and I've never had condensation issues. None of the tents I have owned ever had condensation mats, this was never a concern.
Maybe if there was more humidity out here my experience would be different but I've used tents...
