    Adventure trailer from scratch!

I will be upgrading to Timbren when my Dexter torsion axle finally kicks the bucket. One thing that I have noticed is how much these home build trailers finally weigh when complete. It seems that off the shelf tear drop, Jumping Jack, AT weigh in at under 1500 pounds. Home built ones are a 1000...

    Basic Wire Crimping Kit Suggestions?

Anderson power poles are good for connecting in line for all sizes of wire but they don't have lug or u shaped ends. I use Anderson all the time, they are pricey but very good, the others I use a crimp, solder and shrink wrap. https://powerwerx.com

    Power for tablet

I was holding off buying a split adapter hoping something better would be coming. Thanks for the part numbers!

My first solar project. For expo trailer

I think that calculation power consumption is very important when building these. I haven't been bitten by the refer bug but i have gotten spoiled by some things. I charge our iPads, have a water pump, more lights and other things than when I started. Like teotwaki mentioned, fuse the heck out...

    Kayaking fools

They actually pack down to 30x 20x 12" (approx) On the video, the guys shoves all of the remaining gear into the bag too (paddle, seat, pump and etc.) in real life, we haven't got there yet. It is getting better as we are getting better at rolling them up and stuffing them into the bag. 23 pounds.

Restomod to Rock Crawler with Timbren Axles

I have good and bad days for welding. I thought that's what I was seeing :) It looks like you have a pretty good idea of what you want for a trailer. I have a dexter torsion axle that I welded on. I was always worried that the bolts would loosen or sheer off. I think about using the Timbren...

    Kayaking fools

We have the 393 RL's and they are really nice. We didn't want anything too big since we will only be doing up to two nights on the water. They are easy to setup, paddle and with the skeg, they stay on course very easy. It's still too cold to be working on self rescues and the like but that is...

    Adam's 2005 4runner Modular Drawer System - Initial Planning & Build thread

Your links don't work but I like the concept of being able to use the side in front of the wheel wells is good.

    Kayaking fools

Well, it was 75 F today and the reservoirs have been rising over 65 feet this spring. We decided to give our new inflatable kayaks a spin. It's been years since I've kayaked and my woman has only kayaked once before. We had a blast. They were a little wobbly when we first started but we soon...

Wiring reverse lights for trailer that are also camp lights?

I just finished mine using the same method. I just unplug the seven way before I turn it on.

Picked up a pop up trailer

If it keeps the bugs out, then it's good.

    "Exo Egg" Fiberglass Camper Build

That makes sense. They alway feel different if you only lay on it for a couple of minutes rather than over night. Do you mind saying what was the company that you got the foam from (both types)?

A possible dilemma? Relocation and only 200 watts???

Actually, I would think that Colorado, being cooler would be more efficient for solar production during the year.

    "Exo Egg" Fiberglass Camper Build

How did you choose the foam combo? I'm stuck with a maximum of two inch thickness and I need to find something that is firm enough so I don't crush it but soft enough so my hips don't hurt. Oh, I really like that cooktop.

    "Exo Egg" Fiberglass Camper Build

i like the fact that when most people would have sent that trailer to the scrap yard, you saw potential in what you needed for some cool outdoor adventures.

    Ideal Ground??

My trailer came with 13 grounding points that the manufacturer just added on where ever there were lights. When I did my solar setup, I ran all of my grounds back to my buss bar, then one big wire to the battery. It is nice and neat and when a ground on my trailer goes out, I just solder and...

    Ideal Ground??

You could always bring your grounds back to a buss bar and then connect it back to your battery. Every light or fixture would be simple to check if there is a problem.

    Shower floor in the field?

I use a worn out to piece of astro turf. Works great and dries quick. It is also my traction aid.

The More We Explore - Trip Report Videos

One of our issues is that while we want to go down Green River and such, since we only have the one vehicle, we will have to go back upriver. Needless to say, we will be going mostly on slow waters or lakes. We are looking at going to Rainbow Bridge NM with our Sea Eagles from the Wahweap...
