    Project MULE - Expedition build on a 1991 1500 4x4 Suburban

Love those sliders! And the tool holder setup on your tire carrier is brilliant! Don't think I've seen that done before.

    MikeKey's - AdventureRoadTrips - 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ

PHASE 1 - 35" NITTO TIRES / 1.5" WHEEL SPACERS / 17" METHOD RACE RIMS While the General Grabbers performed amazingly well on our Western Road trip, they looked ridiculous on the Trailblazer once we added a suspension and body lift. It was time to upgrade and push the limits. We settled on Nitto...

PHASE 1 - ADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARMS & PANHARD BAR PHASE 1 - ADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARMS & PANHARD BAR With the body lift installed we were planning on the larger tires. The issue with going up in lift size like we did is the lower control arms are too short for the lift. If you increase the lift...

Phase 1 - 3inch Body lift PHASE 1 - 3 INCH BODY LIFT After our successful expedition out West, we knew that we wanted to tackle some more aggressive trails and not be nearly as scared than we could with the BDS 2 inch lift and General Grabbers. In the back of our minds, Elephant Hill, along...

Phase 0 - Oil Pan & Radiator Skid Plates + Differential Cover The first piece of trail armor that I purchased was a rear diff cover to protect the rather weak rear differential cover from damage. It's made by Purple Cranium: http://purplecranium.com/ While I did that, I changed out the gear...

PHASE 0 PHASE 0 - COMMUNICATIONS - CB RADIO & FIRESTIK I purchased the Cobra 18WXSTII and mounted it on the passenger side of the center console. I knew I wanted a radio with all 10 NOAA weather channels, but I'm not a huge CB user so I wasn't ready to spend over 80$ on a CB. I might upgrade...

Inexpensive ARB IPF 968s got a new lease on life with the 35w HID conversion

I've had DDM's slim ballasts for over 2 years with no issues, including use all over Utah. I've generally avoided the larger Raptor's which are actually not DDM's, just sold by them, and drop shipped from China.

    Western Road Trip - 2013

Capitol reef was a beautiful park, we're planning on returning there this year as well. We'll have an additional 5 days this year to do more exploring.

    Western Road Trip - 2013

The next day dawned foggy and quiet. I still wish we had stayed longer that morning, but we quietly packed up and eased our way out of there. It had started to sprinkle, and we were hoping to get out before the heavy rains hit (had excellent cell reception up there). On the trail, it was...

    Western Road Trip - 2013

I’m sure I sound like a broken record now, but I gotta say it. The drive from Zion to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was just amazing. The diversity of the landscape was spectacular. From red rock to national forests to desert plains and back to national forest only to be dumped on the top of...

    Western Road Trip - 2013

So day “I lost track”.... We left our campsite around 9 and got back on the road. We got to see everything we had missed during the night.... ....and passed Bryce Canyon without much fanfare. We were definitely in tourist territory as we headed into Zion. In fact, it was...

    Western Road Trip - 2013

The next day dawned beautiful and bright. We fueled up, appreciating the fact of knowing how much we were paying in taxes, and then headed for Capitol Reef. Up until now, 'we' had done little hiking (pretty sure all the guiding I did yesterday could qualify as 'hiking') and Mike wanted to get...

    Overlanding with k-9 companions.

Just out of general curiosity what does everyone do about national parks? Seems like everything in the West bans dogs. We have an Husky who we regret leaving home on our trips out west. Last year while in Canyon Lands and the North Rim we came across a few people on the backcountry ORV trails...

    New Guy

Welcome Chris! I love the Alpha's. My wife and I almost bought one. Problem is, we just can't ever seem to find one for sale. Great truck.
