Whats the best gps for offroad navi

I also use my Nuvi for off road navigation now. The Lowrance Expedition is saved for hiking. I have the Nuvi 660. I bought a cheap 2 GB card and loaded the Topo 2008 on it along with a bunch of mp3s and photos. Now I have topo, music and photos all on the Nuvi. I use city streets for the...

Sleeping pad for Truck Bed Platform

I use a Gander Mountain Brand Guide Series 4" closed cell foam self inflating matress. It's extremely comfortable and only costs $80. It comes with a carry sack and compression straps. I've used it on the ground, in the tent cot, and around the house for sleep overs. We have two of them and...

    September Fishing Trip

Yes. The Williams Fork is best fished with nymphs. The water was running about 150 CFS which is a lot for a river of that size so I had to use a lot of weight to get them down. I caught all the fish on a size 20 Barrs Emerger.

    September Fishing Trip

Last week I was able to disappear for 3 days up into the mountains of CO. I had perfect timing as the fishing was good and the weather perfect. Had I waited until this week I would have been snowed on! Anyway here are a few pictures of the trip. I spent time fishing the Middle and South...

    Engle 45 (w/o 2-zone) questions???

Our trips usually are between 3-8 days in length. We use our Waeco CF-50 as a fridge. It holds all our meat, veggies, fruit, dairy, condiments and other odds and ends. We then have a Colemane Xtreme 6 day cooler that holds all of our canned beverages packed in ice. This seems to work well as...

    My Rover

That's a great photo! Fly fishing is one of my few passions. Next week I got a kitchen pass to disappear for my annual fall fly fishing trip, 2 nights and 3 days into the mountains of CO. Last year resulted in a 26" Cuttbow. I'll try to post some pics when I return. Your truck is pretty...

Are the AT trailers worth it?

I would recommend the water tank. I love how convienient it is. I decided to for go the fuel cans and holders as I keep a spare jerry can on my truck as I often set up camp and drive the truck else where. By not having the cans on the trailer it gives me a really good area to store large...

    Wheel Wells on the Tacoma

There are many things I do like about the new trucks, the engine, tranny and now in 09 disc brakes all around. But I still would not trade my 03 double cab for one. I really like the size of it for off roading, the engine is bullet proof and I'm still more partial to the looks of the older...

    Keeping warm in the tent

In our AT Chaser with our Eezi Awn we have camped in temps down to 20 degrees and have had everything freeze over on the outside of the tent. We used a warm sheet on the mattress and a 20 degree bag opened up to cover both of us. That coupled with flannel pj's with the pant legs tucked into...

    New HMMWV spied

Yes that is one of our favorite areas too. We plan on eventually moving up. So many great and places to explore and fish. We've only been up there a few times in the winter but plan on going more this year.

    New HMMWV spied

That looks like the truck stop at Johnson Village just outside Buena Vista? It seems like just about every time I stop there I see some really cool rigs come through.

Ford flex, AWD, 24mpg, seats 7, onboard NAV, AND a fridge...

If you are in the market for a mini van or station wagon type vehicle this looks really nice. I'd hesitate to call it a great ski vehicle. Maybe a good one but the ground clearance is so low you have a very good chance of getting stuck by being high centered. Here in Colorado that's usually...

    Shower and toilet enclosure thread

Once you learn how to fold it it's easy. Fold it flat. Then fold it in half so the walls are all stacked on each other. Place the ceiling end on the ground and hold the floor end in you hands, one hand on each side. Push the ceiling end down into the ground and as you do this bring your arms...

I absolutely love ours. It sets up and breaks down in a flash. What seemed to be the issue with yours?

    Brewing Camp Coffee...

I could not agree more. My wife and I are coffeeholics and we too have our favorite places here in town. However we too just discovered good instant coffee for camping and started using it this year on our trips. So easy in so many ways. No more complicated messy coffee pots and filters and...

    Possible Rtt Option

Yeah I would would not feel comfortable leaving it permanently mounted on top of an SUV due to the height of it. On a pick truck it works really well. It was easy to open and close and it provided a lot of two level storage under it. I haven't used the set up since we got the AT Chaser but I...

    Possible Rtt Option

I would post a few pics of what mine looked like closed up but I still can't post pictures. Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon. Here is a link to my webshots page and this photo will give you a little idea of what it looked like. I just removed the sleeping bags folded it over and...
